Colchester Friendly Preview
We visit a brand new ground tonight with what promises to be more of the same after Saturday.

Weston Homes Community Stadium
I would imagine the squad to be exactly the same as most of the senior players only just returned training on Monday and it gives a new chance for Albrighton, Weimann and Bannan to impress once again.
I will update the score via the Twitter feed once there is news but I will not be at the game.
Fixtures moved for Sky and ESPN
Well Sky and ESPN have messed us around again
Liverpool Away now on MON 24th Aug – 20:00 – ESPN
Fulham game has been moved to Sun 30th August – 4PM – but this would have been moved anyway for ‘Europa’ – SKY
Blues now on Sunday 13th September – 12 KO – SKY
Man City at Home now MON 5th October – 20:00 – ESPN
Chelsea moved to Saturday 17th October – 12.45 – SKY
Wolves now on Saturday 24th October – 12.45 – SKY
Spurs at Home now on Saturday November 28th 17:15 – ESPN
This means before Decemeber only Wigan is for certain on a 3PM Sat KO as I believe the other games could be moved for the Europa
2009-10 Fixtures Out
Today is the best one in the summer, of course it is the release of the season 2009-10 fixtures.
According to the most anarchic rule ever, sites are not allowed to publish them so please go the OS but I will pick out the stand outs.
We start on the 15th August (allowing of course for TV !!) at home to Wigan with their new and highly rated manager Roberto Martinez. We then finish at home to Blackburn on the 9th May. Throughout the season the fixtures are well spread with a bumper Xmas of Arsenal away on Boxing day, Liverpool at home on the 28th December and the FA cup on the 2nd January.
The ding dong (C) Tom Ross local derbies will be Blues Away – 12th September, Wolves Away – 24th October, Wolves Home – 20th March and Blues at home – 24th April. These fixtures of course will be moved to the Sunday but we once again have the enticing prospect of sending Blues down !
The first 10 games always sets up the season and when we look at them it is a mixture of difficult ad so called easy ones and around 6 wins is possible and would set us well up for the season to come.
October 3rd is THE one that will be the one to go to, I would imagine with Barry’s return it will be moved for TV but the reception unless he bottles it will be very hot.
Overall I am happy about them.
