Gardner joins the wastelands at St Andrews
The Birmingham Mail have just reported that Craig Gardner has joined the Blues for around £3.5m.
Good luck to Craig there, he will need it as an ex Villan and passionate Villa fan, any slip up will be over analysed and he will be blamed more than most.
I loved Craig’s attitude on the pitch but frankly he was not good enough for an aspiring top 4 club and had been overtaken by our purchase of Fabian Delph who over the future will prove to be a top class player.
Thanks Craig for your time at Villa and good luck at the wastelands.
Craig is a Villa fan
For the Blues fans it is worth rembering that your OS is lying to you, Craig Gardner is a Villa fan and he will be our secret agent
From our OS
Craig Gardner wants to help write new chapters in Villa’s glorious cup history – after cheering some of the past ones as a supporter on the terraces.
Gardner has definitely got ‘cup fever’ as this evening’s clash with Doncaster approaches – after recalling the joy of 1994 when Villa beat Tranmere.
He told AVTV: “I was on the terraces for the Villa v Tranmere League Cup semi-final game.
“We were 3-1 down and pulled it back in the match at Villa Park. To see Mark Bosnich saving those penalties was absolutely unbelievable.
“For years, I was a fan singing on the terraces. Now supporters are singing to me while I play. That’s massive.
“To be doing brilliantly at the moment in three competitions and to see my mates and chat about it is tremendous.
“I have been coming on a bit and now I’ve started the last two games. I am buzzing. I just want to keep playing football and impressing.
BREAKING NEWS : Gardner to join Blues, unlucky for him
Blues OS has just announced he will join Blues subject to medical and personal terms for £3m
They claim he will join his ‘boyhood heroes’ the club he supported as a boy, this has far as I know is total rubbish as he had a season ticket at VP and always supported us. Just a tawdry attempt by the Blues to convince their own sceptical fans, just horrible.
Good luck Craig you will need it there
MON denies any Boyd link, HURRAH
Great news from today’s press conference
O’Neill said: “I don’t know if players are at football games but the other part I can definitely comment on. I was quite surprised to see the story that he is signing for us.
“Of course, I know the player very well indeed. He was in Scotland when I was in charge of Celtic – but there isn’t any truth in it.”
I must say that gets a big cheer from me and allows the Blues a clear run at best an average player, at worse a total waste in the PL
However today it appears that Habib Beye and Craig Gardner are very close to leaving Villa Park when this happens will this leave space for another signing ?
