Video highlights of the Boh’s game
Hat Tip : H&V
Here are some highlights of the Boh’s game today
things to note
we look leggy at the back and Dunne mentions they were much sharper, got to remember our programme is designed for August 14th not now. Some fans have mentioned some players look a bit ‘heavy’.
cracking cross from Albrighton
the massive Villa support there both from Ireland and Birmingham, well done everyone
Webb to ref World Cup Final, not fit to referee Sunday League (remember Wembley)
FIFA have announced that Howard Webb is to ref the World Cup final on Sunday between Holland and Spain and how is this Villa related you ask ?
I am sure in the past Webb has given us decisions and not given us them but for all of us I would think the FA Cup Semi Final particularly stands out.
OK I am may be a one eyed Claret and Blue Fan but he was awful that day, no worse than that. He never gave us nothing all game from the clear penalty on Gabby until the incident I will always remember him for.
What was it ? In the 73rd minute or so Milner was breaking through and the donkey John Terry desperate to prove he is a quality defender (ha ha) lunged if that is the right word with studs up straight into Milners lower leg. If Milner had had his foot on the ground it would have possibly been a compound fracture of his leg, the clearest sending off you will see.
The result, well Terry is a big name player and Webb speaks to them so he got just a yellow. To make matters worse he allowed play to go on and Petrov was breaking through and brought down by the already booked Deco and what happened, NOTHING.
Should have been two sendings off, clear and simple and we win the game
but Webb like Dowd bottled it in a big game where we had so called big teams playing.
A bottler and he gets to ref the final.
No justice.
28 Years Ago – Never forget Rotterdam
We all know happened then
At the time of writing this we were 30 minutes or so into kick off into Villa’s greatest day. I was just 10 years old and remember watching the whole game on TV with Butler and Gavin on in the background for BRMB.
Even then I knew what a great day it was and it is still with me even now. Some supporters of the smallest team in Birmingham (not Sutton Coldfield Town) go on about how we are ‘history’ boys but it is history which defines Villa from our very core and even now with Chelsea and Arsenal having a decade of attempts we are one of the chosen few.
It showed at the Sheffield game in 2007 that we never have forgotten those men of true Claret and Blue Blood

Semi Final Videos
I know how popular the video’s posted on Youtube were for the League Cup Final so they have now appeared for the semi final.
The first from Colin Davies
and from Althea Gaye & Ray Fullard
Wash and go with Jimmy Bullard
Remember when Jimmy Bullard injured his knee at Villa Park and was carried off. Remember the reception the whole ground gave him as he was carried off, that receptions shows the esteem in which he is held. No flash about Jimmy but just good honest hard work and a fantastic attitude, the proper working class hero.
So even though this is not Villa related I think all fans will like this, I present the Jimmy Bullard Wash & Go advert.
Fantastic
Carling Cup Songs
Well here is a list of them from the very good (ultimate villa song) to the downright bloody bizarre (Carling cup Rap) with a grannie
Enjoy IF you can !

The new Wembley song from Colin Davies
This is so much better than the horrible Nikki Evans song.
Though it has to be said Colin Davies amongst the forum guys splits views.
Definitely a marmite person !
I love the cheesyness of his songs !
A repeat of last season at Goodison, YES PLEASE !!
A year ago Ashley Young scored one of the most spectacular goals in Villa’s recent history. A goal that not only turned a match we had blown but caused the manager to call him a genius and gave us one of the most spectacular Villa’s celebrations with Martin Laursen, it was brilliant !
Ashley Young scores a memorable goal and the celebration wth Laursen fantastic !
So a year on what has changed. For Everton a succession of injuries have robbed them of their best players and we go to Goodison on Saturday playing a side limping, out of form and ready to be beat. However for us a year on we have not progressed as much as I would like but there are very good signs of a good season to come.
Enough has been written on the form of the defence to fill many internet pages but once again against Sunderland the whole defence and James Collins once again showed what a solid unit we are. The concerns are up front though.
With the likes of Milner, Young, Carew, Gabby, Heskey we really should be creating far more chances than the last couple of games. Not sure what is wrong, not sure MON know but in what will be a tough physical game (Everton is always that) I do worry we lack the physicality to compete and create the chances we need to.
Games against Everton, the most games every played in the top flight, are always tough and close, this will be no difference but to carry on progressing we have to win.
Rapid Vienna fans at Villa Park
Just found the video below on youtube and I have to say that they were the best fans I have ever seen at Villa Park. They never stopped all game and great kudos to them, though I have no doubt that there is a ‘dark side’ to them at Villa Park the Vienna fans were a credit to ther Club, City and Country.
The Reaction in the Holte Suite after Gabby’s goal’s – Pt 1
Not great quality but I think you get the kind of atmosphere we had on Sunday
fantastic stuff in the Holte Suite and afterwards !!
With thanks to my mate Dennis McMamee
A Retard in Blue
This is a classic from a Blooz fan isn’t, as a proud owner of two tattoo’s how he could allow that is beyond comprehension !!
Laugh at Birmingham City
I know this is a Villa blog but we should not resist the chance to laugh at our so called ‘rivals’
This video was done by the Mail and Blooz to promote the ground improvements, these included
- new tarmac edging to the pitch
- clean seats
- half built new bg screens
honestly you could not make it up
well there is more, look at the great tour they do, just hwo could you resist looking at the pitch ??

visit the sty ha ha ha
Fabian Delph’s goals
Some are rather special
Laursen’s farewell speech
It was very emotional at Villa Park at around 15:45 as Martin Laursen gave us his farewell speech and of course the Geordies tried to ruin it but failed. The warmth to Laursen was obvious from all around the ground and can I say even I had a tear at the corner of his eye.
This is a video of it from Youtube from the Witton Lane and the stature of the guy leading the players at the end says it all about his influence within the team
