During his time at Villa, Carew it seems fooled a lot.
Old time readers of this blog will know the disdain I had for Carew. Just because he clapped the fans and went to a lap dancing club does not excuse the lack of effort he put into many games. For too long Carew got away with doing nothing and got away from justifiable criticism.
So today he pops up on sky and we get all the sickening comments regarding Carew being a ‘legend’. FFS I hate the word being used, it demeans the true legends of the club who actually did things for this club. Legends who actually gave 100% to the club all the time and they deserve the tag and won honours.
Carew is the epitome of the modern footballer we all hate. They get paid a fortune and it seems football and their profession is secondary to who they can bed or where they can party. If only Carew had followed the professionalism of say James Milner then he could have been a world beater rather than an has been sucking up to gullible fans.
Charlie Aitken he played 660 games, 16 goals, then comes Billy Walker,531 games, Gorden Cowens 528 with 59 goals. then Allen Evans 469 Nigel Spinks 454 games all long serving Legends to Aston Villa all this because Robo Hates Carew.then again who does Robo Like.? lol
For what its worth.. i saw him on goals on Sunday and he came across as he genuinely cares for Villa and wants us to stay up.. spoke in glowing terms about us so i don’t know why a negative article about him has been made..
As for the word legend.. why do u take it so seriously.. people phone talk sport and call Goughy a legend.. its just a common word.. people even use it in everyday talk to at work etc when someones done them a favor etc,,
To start bloody defining it blah blah is a bit sad IMO..
