We’re hosting the League Champions at home on Monday, expect a tough game. Aston Villa aren’t really good at home and Man. City will be determined to catch up to their title rivals Manchester United. Last weekend Man. City beat Chelsea 2-0 and Villa lost 2-1 to Arsenal; Villa aren’t playing too badly, but with a poor defence Villa have conceded far to many late goals. It’s going to be a very tough game and I don’t personally expect anything out of this game.
Aston Villa Team News:
Albrighton and Dunne are still missing alongside with long-term injured Gary Gardner. Chris Herd is also out with a knee injury. Darren Bent, Vlaar and Given should all return to the side following their injury set backs last weekend.
Manchester City Team News:
Maicon is definitely out with an injury and Kompany is most likely going to miss this fixture. Mancini will probably not risk him for this game. Richards and Barry will most likely be fit and will have a place on the bench.
Aston Villa Facts:
Paul Lambert’s side have lost all eight league encounters where they have been behind at half-time.
No-one has scored more Premier League goals in 2013 than Christian Benteke (6).
Villa have averaged only 0.84 pts per game against Man City in the Barclays Premier League era, only against Man Utd (0.46) and Arsenal (0.83) have they averaged fewer.
Manchester City Facts:
Only Reading (14) have scored more goals in the final 15 minutes of league matches this season than Manchester City (13).
Manchester City have won 69% of games with Matija Nastasic this season (11 of 16) and just 45% of those that he has missed (5 of 11).
Man City have scored four or more goals in three of their last five league games against Aston Villa.

I found it pages back, ciaran clark needs docking a weeks wages for that twatish attempt at skill cost us a point.
On the subject of centre halfs where’s Ron Vlaar when you need him? Looking at his injury record at Feyenoord the fella would give Jonathan Woodgate a run for his money, it is truly appalling. Someone a VP never did their homework when we signed him but there’s nothing new there.
Clark is truly awful, i’ve never rated him.
I thought we played well tonight, had we played like that all season i doubt we would be in the position we are in now, Delph ran his socks off, i think he’ll be missed in the next two games bizarrely enough.
Bws i was just going to mention him,i was going to question if he was a crock or not & now you’ve kindly answered that.so his got some form in the injury dept.ffs
Quite frankly 5 wins in 28 games is pathetic. Whatever happens between now and end of May, under no circumstances should Lambert be our manager next season, no way.
He has had a season to turn it round, we were crap at the start, crap in the middle and now we are looking at a crap ending. Owen Coyle Mark 2, lets not make the same mistake Bolton did, sack him now and lets start planning for the championship with someone who understands the basics of defending.
Season 2006–07 foot injury in a pre-season match against Reading- out for almost the entire first half of the league.
Season 2007–08 injured against Roda JC, needed a surgery on the cruciate ligament and was out for the rest of the season.
2008–09 season – another injury at a medial collateral ligament of his knee.
After being sidelined for over a year, Vlaar returned to the training field. After an innocent coming together with Kevin Hofland, Vlaar damaged his cruciate ligament again. It was the same injury he had in the previous season, causing him to miss a complete season again.

I think its obvious why we got him so relatively cheap (for an experienced international defender). Surely the club knew his injury record and would have planned accordingly by bringing in another experienced centre half. Not Lambert and Lerner though, they live on their own deluded planet.
Made his debut for for AZ aged 20, he’s now 28 and played a grand total of 160 club games, that by my calculations works out at 20 games a season. Good work if you can get it.
Dan were not in the championship yet,i agree you can’t stick with the same manager that takes you down because all that will do is continue the rot as you’ve already mentioned.pundits are now saying 37/38pts will be the target for safety?even that amount sounds daunting.i live in hope.utv
Ffs sake the club must of turned a blind eye to vlaar’s medical record.how long is he out for now??
And that’s why he only cost £3m.
We were fucking robbed!!
Many of you on here were predicting thrashings by Arsenal and Citeh, and in both games, we can count ourselves unlucky to have missed out on a point.
What is absolutely crucial now, is that we maintain the commitment and effort that we have shown and get results against Reading & QPR.
Wigan & Reading look awful, as bad as we were over Christmas.
We look like we are improving, and have to show that in points on the board, not bemoaning the ones that got away.
Decent atmosphere tonight, the support is still there. The first twenty minutes or so surprised me, we looked the better side, and not a relegation threatened team playing the champions.
Desperate for something on Saturday, can’t wait. I think that it’ll go down to the Wigan away game.
It was the same old shit just another day, we huffed and puffed but no houses blew down so don’t get too carried away.
Difficult to get carried away in 17th place, but I can see a slight improvement.
Then again, we were abymsal, so it was needed.
We need more points than Wigan & Reading, forget this 38 or 40, and defeat against Reading means we’re doomed.
We’ll have to fight to the end.
Reading were rolled 3-0 by Wigan at home, and Everton could have had ten against them on Saturday.
Wigan looked a dispirited and split camp on Saturday in a woeful effort against Liverpool.
We just have to get a point more than them, it’s possible, but difficult.
Just hope and pray that we do it.
Your right mate, if you’re getting chased by a lion, you don’t need to run faster than the lion, just the people running with you.
Thats a great view of it BWS lol……. I think we can forget about all this ‘we played well’ talk as we got zero points and worsened our goal difference.
I think QPR may do us and we will draw against Reading, we are relegated thanks to a shit Chairman and an even shitter CEO
Thing is Wigan and Reading have been collecting more points that us recently, we are just about the worst team in the division at this moment given our woeful form.
Still everyone knows what is required, 6 points. Defeat against reading and its over
Nothing in it according to this.

We’ve had tougher fixtures too, WBA, Everton and Arsenal away, and Citeh at home in that.
Have to chalk up points against ‘lesser’ sides.
By the way, had several texts that Benteke was a penalty late second half, didn’t look it, and haven’t seen a replay yet, BBC lavishing all their praise on Man U and Real M.
Ive got this horrible feeling it’s going to be 2 draws.im not being negative but whats happened so far with these must win games in the past.i really fucking hope not.utv
I don’t feel too bad about Reading, Pogrebnyak is suspended, and they leak goals too. We are better away from home generally, so a decent chance there.
But QPR for me is a nailed on defeat. Redknapp hates us and always gets one over on us every single season. Plus they can sense a real chance, think they will beat S’Land at weekend, then us and move out of bottom 3.
Wigan, reading & qpr all have experience when it will be needed.we dont buying young could be expensive imo.again not sounding like a parrot,i fucking hope not but we must be realistic can they handle pressure?a big question mark.
Cruuf turn just before half time at 0-0 against city what was Clarke thinking.Just clear the fucker man.As for our performance we didn’t get hammered we could of took a point so not to bad.I really thought we would get 3 points and we had weathered the storm untill Clarke fucked up.Lets hope now we stay up.CLARET N BLUE ARRRMEYYYYYYYYYYY.
man villa deserved a draw at very least ~ yes another mistake is punished but the players looked like they believe and more important i believe , 3 points at reading and then we start from there, keep the faith 30 points 2 play 4 upthevilla
Jd i commented earlier about the clown,he cost us a point imo.he’s a fucking disaster waiting to happen,as it did it happened.ive seen better pub league players with more ability & brains mate purely criminal.what the fuck was the twat thinking.
lets look at the good things ~ against arsenal we were a threat, against city we played very good in patches ~ reading are as bad as us in defence, so i expect us 2 rip them 2 shreads, clark and baker have looks stronger in recent games, vlaar could be back ~we collect more point than wigan and reading and Qpr we are safe
Nathan i really hope so mate.utv
me2 lol ~ we score first a reading and the locals will be against them , keep our nerves we should get 3points and much needed lift ~ our game is suited 2 be away as long as we hold out at our end lol
