For comparison against last year’s report.
The important figures we do know
TURNOVER
2011 – £90M
2012 – £78M
WAGES
(not including pension)
2011 – £70M
2012 – £56M
TURNOVER/WAGES Ratio
2011 – 77%
2012 – 71 %
If we want to get to say 60% ratio you can see why we are still cutting and very very hard. Thanks to a collapse in turnover (Mcleish) we have to cut harder ! This is mirroring the UK economic situation so much.
Turnover this season will hardly be much higher apart from Macron deal.

Benteke and weiman or any other player we get good offers for will certinly be sold, all this new information explains why. Feeder club.
Yet another load of negative bollocks!
I think compared to qpr we wont look to bad,im sure most clubs are in the same boat.langford i love youre directness, straight to the point mate.
he should wait until I get hold of a copy of the report, I am sure things are hidden within it
QPR will be fine, a third owned by Mittal, who is in the top 10 richest people in the world. They might be heading down but they will walk the championship next year and will come back stronger. We on the other hand are heading into an ambitionless oblivion. Fuck lerner and his muppet CEO faulkner.
I thought this mittal geezer fucked off,or was it a member of his family?
Blah blah doom and gloom
We have reduced costs and lost turn over
Who didn’t see that one coming?
Although its nice to see the exact figures.
I don’t get this Lerner hatred though.
He is far from the best but just as far from the worst owners ( I am thinkin mandaric, yueng, shinawatra, Charles green.)
Anyone who tries to tell me he got into this for the money is having a laugh.
There are a hundred better ways for a billionaire to make money.
We are just about clinging in to our prem league status.
That and worse has happened under previous owner.
So in the whole scheme of things .
Deadly saw us get relegated, promoted. Finish second then Get into Europe and win a couple if league cups then languish in midtable and avoid relegation in how many years?
So far Lerner has seen us get into the Europa league, a cup final achieve mid table and now overseen relegation fights in half or less time as deadly …
So par for the course so far? Not much better or not much worse?
I think we should simmer down and concentrate on trying to roar the team on to a few much needed wins over the next few weeks
The owners you have put up is really clutching at straws.
Charles Green -Selling the club’s better players being sold without consultation and without funds to replace them (sound familiar?)
Mandarić? Do you mean Ali al- Faraj’s and his investment firm Falcondrone Ltd (again sound familiar, Randy Lerner and his investment firm Reform Acquisitions)
shinawatra- Man city look like they are doing ok to me.
yueng- well he’s just a crook (allegedly).
For a business to attract customers and add to revenue it must excite its potential customers, it must make them want to be a part of something, it must make them aspire to the brands values. A football team has other USPs – the type of football being played, winning, league position. You can see why it’s failing, why the fuck can’t Lerner. It’s elementary. Yet no communication, no attempt to rouse the lions.
One year we were losing £53 million. A year later we’re losing £17 million. We’re not a bottomless pit, so I think first things first, stop hemorrhaging money and then build from there in a sustainable way. Ianrobo doesn’t see the world the way it is.
Why can’t sense be used when approaching the topic of Aston Villa at the moment?
Streetly, he can probably see where it’s failing.
Putting it right is an altogether tougher task.

Common sense dictates that the club needs to find better ways to generate money outside of cutting the squad and selling talent. The club cannot solely rely on the sale of players to make a profit.
Personally, I feel the club should be doing more to invest in the community and surrounding area. Lerner should know this from his time in the NFL. A prime example is the Green Bay Packers, based in a small city the team not only competes at the highest level, but go beyond the game and define a community. For those who are not familiar Green Bay has the longest waiting list for season tickets in the NFL, 30 years +.
In the latest news, Lambert recommends the FA should take tips from the Bundesliga. Can Villa lead the way?
