Where’s the news? There is none.

So we’ve had the Andreas Weimann story, where he’s an absolute cert to be a goner in no time at all.
A story that’s still being pushed somewhat, with rumours that there are loads of clubs after him.
Even though the kid himself killed the story, by saying talks haven’t stalled, as was suggested.
Hmm.

The next one is the club’s accounts, something I was well looking forward to.
That’s not happened either.
I personally expect we won’t see them for a while, as it doesn’t suit the fans’ books to see them just now.
We’d only be asking questions if we were to see that things aren’t as bad as the lack of investment in the window indicated, wouldn’t we, after all?

Then I see Bruce Rioch (king of the Holte, when I was a kid), stating the bleeding obvious and quoting Shankley in saying that you need to hold on to your best players and shouldn’t let their contracts run below 2 years.

Now I’m really on the verge of falling asleep.

Which brings me to the main reason why I wanted to write something and struggle with the abysmal internet connection that I have, to say it;
The constant quotes that the players are making via the club, telling us everything is hunky dory and things are going to be fine is really starting to annoy me.

And then I find Ian has already posted on the very same subject!

If I had some hair left, I’d be pulling it out!

Whatever, it shows it’s not just me and I really wish they’d just stop with this BS and put the energy into producing.
I mean, who do they think they’re fooling?
We’re currently in deep proverbial. Everyone knows it.
And while I can understand the club trying to keep spirits up, I just find it bloody patronising.
Especially the constant praising the manager part.
I seriously doubt that’s anywhere near what many of the squad think.

  1. There’s not a lot more to say. By now we have all realised that the manager is useless prat, the players are a joke, the chairman doesn’t care and the CEO is a clueless buffoon. The club is dying and needs putting out of its misery. Just one big ambitionless and directionless embarrassment who trudge from one humiliation to another.

    • “Needs putting out of it’s misery?”

Shush mate; that’s where I’ll never agree with you, Belcs.

    • The horrible thing is, as bad as this assessment sounds, it’s pretty hard to disagree with it. Everything about the club at the moment reeks of despondency and defeatism, and air of weary resignation hangs over the place. The buck stops at the top. Lerner and his henchman are a bunch of witless fools, and their hopelessly amateurish antics have reduced the club to its current shambolic state. The worst is knowing that there’s nowt I can actually do about it other than vent my frustrations on here. I’ve loved the Villa with a passion for over fifty years, but I wouldn’t cross the road to piss on Lerner, his CEO or any member of the board if they were on fire.
See ya for the Citeh game, then!

  2. On the books, I think you are right Badger, I really believe it would be impossible to show the finances THAT bad we have get in players as cheap as Dawkins and Sylla to ‘save’ us.

  3. I forgot to say KMac has got the Swindon job.
That one was slightly interesting, in that I wish him well.
Apologies, for bringing up the same subject as you Ian, but I never know what’s going to post and what’s not, down here.

As for the window, I’m still amazed and can’t get over that.
Lerner’s total undoing, if we go down, imo.

    • badger123,
No matter what a player says can be the truth players in the past have said talks are ongoing and i am happy at Villa and the next minute they are off.But with this regime can only see one way for Villa to go and that is the same way as the noses. From the owner down they must go as if not Birmingham will end up as the only major city in England without a football club. The writing as been on the wall for a long time and come the end of this season the final nail will be put in the coffin.

      • Terry, I Think thats what belcs means, but badger thought putting out of misery was the Villa, as you said the hole of the regime is the problem, not one in my mind is a Villa fan, no true Villa owner or manager would take our club and make it more like a company and make fans pay. I get the thoughts of what they would like to do, as I have said they are not Villa people just money making business types for the want of a better word.

        • Bill mate remember a few weeks back there was talk of bringing in a director or technical director. Now i am wondering why that idea seams not to have materialised was Randy talked out of it as Faulkner afraid he was losing some of his powers or is it a case of both he & Lambert were afraid that a technical or director of football would be solely accountable to Randy thus both their powers being diminished.
I think most fans & i for one would have been fully behind the idea of Randy bringing in a man to take over the scouting team & making recemmadations as to bringing in new players & how the coaching should be done as to take the club forward.

          • Terry to be honest mate I dont believe what ever we say until the proverbial hits the fan Villa going one way and that backwards. I cannot for one minute think where the next generation of fans will come from, kids today only support winning sides and that we dont have, Lerner will sell off assets in time never mind what Ellis says he’s waiting for him to go off the planet.

          • Bill you & a few more of us have been saying this for some time the fans have no voice anymore VP as become like the Kremlin. Those at the top seem to think that no matter what us fans will still attend VP & buy merchandise, but they do not realise that without the fans & a future generation of fans their little empire will crumble. Thus leaving our City of Birmingham without a football club of any note.
It will not be just a tradedgey for the club but for Birmingham as a whole.Solets hope that if Randy Lerner is not going to do something to reverse the decline he sells up to someone whom as Villa running through their veins the same as Sir Deadly Doug as no one could fault his commitment to Villa.

  4. Andi weiman was wishing Kev Mac goodbye on twitter so I tweeted weiman”Kev mac wont be the only one leaving the villa eh mr weiman I’ve already said goodbye so goodluck”I want to see if I get a response lol UTV;)

  6. Christ man. This is what happens:

    A journalist asks a question.

The player says something positive, honed well by PR.

The quotes get put on the internet.

    You get angry.

Chill out. There is nothing wrong with this other than your need to make yourself miserable. If you don’t want to read vacuous quotes by footballers stop looking on the fucking internet at every bit of news.

    • And if it’s not journalists then it’s just the official site pushing content, which is what they are there to do. Can we keep moaning down to sensible things please?

      • no need to wheel out any player. Most of these if not all come via the OS and it insults our intelligence to hear Gabby claim Bowery will be good.

  7. another day gone and another day when the annual report is late, last year they came out bang on time
