Hiphop has sent in this positive article about Paul Lambert.
Aston Villa lie above the relegation zone with 24 points (just one point above the drop line) however there is always one glimmer of hope in my mind that will ensure the survival of this massive, historical club and that is — Paul Lambert.
Paul lambert is never short of optimism and his quirky standoffish persona with the media may irritate, however his professionalism and privacy with his team behind scenes is exactly the type of manager we needed, as opposed to someone like Lee Clark (Birmingham city manager) who publicly slashes his players.
As well as this, Paul Lambert has proven that he has an eye for young and up and coming talent and is one of the few managers that is prepared to utilise them if he thinks they’re ready for the demanding premier league. His smart purchases in the likes of: Christian Benteke, Ashley Westwood, Joe Bennet (who will come good as a midfielder), and Matthew Lowton is very risky but he is starting to reap the benefits of them, as they adapt quickly.
Paul Lambert has also been very unfearful of causing an upset as this club needed a large rejuvenation or a refurbishment if you like. The likes of Alan Hutton and Stephen Warnock left the club and he replaced them with Players such as Ron Vlaar, who is arguably better than the two. He also did the unthinkable and replaced Shay Given with Bradley Guzan and rarely starts Darren Bent over Christian Benteke which in my opinion is something that only the most confident managers would do, and it has certainly payed off to some extent (as both players newly introduced have done brilliantly).
A more obvious change is his attempt of freshening up the style of football that Aston Villa have played and: he urges his players to pass rather than smash the ball up field, which has began to be instilled into the makeup of our players and has worked in snippets (remember that team goal against Liverpool) but shall continue to work as Lambert improves every player more and more.
Paul Lambert has a great track record as well with a Double promotion at Norwich being one of them. He is the ideal man for this job with his ‘three year project’ at Aston Villa, and I understand the frustration that many of us feel, but he definitely knows what he is doing and where he aims Aston Villa to be so remaining faithful and you’ll see!
Hiphop must be the most deluded fan on here or his he paid to sing the praises of the worst manager in Villa history.Lambert is not special and will never take our great club into the realms of ever challenging the so called top four.If he was then we would not be in the position we find the club in.To call Lambert special must be the joke of the year.
Hip hop in need a load more convincing before i start singing his praises.as you know youre only judged by the results you get,& that most certainly isn’t pleasant reading.
Nice to see a positive post, thanks.
I too feel we are on the border if something special.

I’m trying to be more positive about this all now. I think Lambert is adapting as much as the team is and they’re all starting to improve and pull together. Despite thinking some of his choices of starting 11, tactics and substitutions haven’t been particularly good I think it’s just been a case of try it and see and it’s all starting to work. I certainly don’t feel the same way about Lambert as I did McLeish.
Somewhat over-optimistic and simplistic for me, but what the heck, there’s nothing wrong with that.
After all, I’m convinced we’re going to beat Arsenal today!
Whoever wrote this must be taking the piss. I cannot think of a worse manager for this club. Statistically every negative record is being broken in front of our eyes. If that wasn’t bad enough, he cannot even string a sentence out without mumbling some garbage, like “we’ll be fine”, when it is evident that the club is falling apart. He is dour, boring and patronising beyond belief. I have never felt so strongly against a manager, we are doomed for as long as lam-berk is here.
Unfortunately for some bizarre reason the muppets that sang his name at Norwich, will do anything to defend their precious lam-berk. This is AVFC, not Lam-Berk FC.
Mate there as never a truer word said as i call them the Lamberks Lemmings will keep defending their leader no matter how far our great club falls.Wonder if he told them to jump off the Rotunda if they would do it while chanting his name.
And your personal feeling are not clouding your judgement? Go ahead vent your spleen but at least aim your anger in the right direction-Lerner-Faulkner & MON.
PL inherited an unholy mess at VP that will take years to clear up.
Did Randy write this article?
I think its a case of everybody wants long term stability and a manager to stick around and bed in stay if you like.Everybody wants Lambert to do well and to reshape and reinvent the entire Villa team and look on the pitch which he is doing. It was never going to happen in one season and relegation is always a possibility in these circumstances.Im with Lambert and the squad whatever happens.UTV.
JD We had four years of stability under Mon and if it had not been for poor health we would have had again under Gerard Houlier. But unfortunately it as not happened those at the top have made two managerial mistakes and nobody not even you can deny Mc Leish was the first and now Lambert another mistake made by people whom don;t understand football. Some of us fans knew that Lambert was going to be out of his depth maybe he does have the right ideas. But that does not make up for the fact the situation the club now finds it self in.If you want a team in this league to move forward and improve and create stability you need a proven E P L manager not one whom as the notion you can re-build a team whilst in this league.Yes as Villa fans we would all like to see a long term manager at VP but it will never happen while the club lurch from one manager to another whom have not proven their credabillity in the E P L.
Were four years of MON stable or financially ruinous ?
AVFC players, team now has to earn its keep and should not be bailed out by hard cash. The team should work hard to win and better themselves to try and get to the top.Swansea prime example.Lambert should stay and be given time to create and build the mans had just under a season. He is not Jesus and AVFC was in a state things will get better even if we have to go down.AVFC earn your keep earn the right to play.
