Results today pretty much went our way, the Southampton-Man city result apart.
It was pretty weird that one, but seems to concur with Ian’s assessment that Manchester city are indeed a poor side.
Let’s hope we can get a result against them when we meet them on the 4th.
Whatever, the point of this post is that we quite simply need a win tomorrow.
West Ham are not brilliant in defence and I’d expect us to score at least one goal.
In fact, I wonder what the odds are for us to score two?
I might even have a dabble on that one.
But as we all know, the problem is in defence.
Which is where I might have a few bob on us conceding two goals too.
We all know Allardyce’s teams are set up for set pieces and a bruising type of game, which is a bit scarey, but I reckon we can hold out.
The bookies seem to have this one down as a hard fought low scoring draw, but I very much doubt that will be the outcome.
It just won’t be good enough for us and I suspect we’ll see Villa going for it.
Rightly so, because nothing less than a win will do.
A win that we’re going to get.
Of that I have no doubt and I actually expect a cracking game tomorrow.
People go on about how weak the Premiership is and what a poor standard it has fallen to, but what does that say about Europe when our sixth place finishers won the European Cup ?
Man U are maybe not the side that they have been in the past, but with Rooney and Van Persie up front, you’ll challenge any team.
As for survival, I think you can perm one from three, us, Wigan and Reading.
However, there is normally one side that drop like a stone into the mix.
We have to play at home like we do away to escape the drop, simple as.
Won’t expect many goals, West Ham the lowest away scorers and we are dire at home. Nailed on for a tight tense game, would take a 1 nil off someones backside right now. The result is all that matters today, 3 points or relegation, make your choice today Villa. Draw or lose and lambert should walk as a matter of integrity.
Win or bust today, anything less and we are doomed to relegation. 4 home league defeats in a row already, today all the wrongs have to be put right. Huge pressure on lambert and the players, they have to deal with it now. Will be more media focus on us now too with the title race over. Can lambert and the players handle it?
