Benteke Scoring Record

It’s difficult to find much positivity right now but Christian Benteke has finally broken a little bit of a curse at Villa Park. He is the first player to score more then 10 goals in a season since 2010 when both Carew and Agbonlahor managed that. There is no question that Benteke has been fundamental to our team and is one of the main players that will determine whether or not we survive or get relegated.

He has already scored 10 goals this season from 22 appearances, nearly making it a a goal in every second game. The problem might be hanging on to him, he must be getting frustrated that all his goals are worth nothing with the constant poor defending that we are witnessing game after game. We haven’t won in the Premier League since Liverpool. Already Weimann has vented our his frustration and if things don’t improve soon defensively I think that the likes of Benteke, Bent and Weimann aren’t going to want to stay since there goals aren’t worth anything.

Benteke has a big future ahead of him and I hope they will remain with Aston Villa. But Lambert needs to do something about the defence. Maybe start Sylla ahead of Bannan/Westwood but right now I’m out of ideas, I’m frustrated and if confidence is low among the fans it must be worse in the training ground, even if the manager is denying it.

  1. Thanks BWS my inane bullshit is fact though so how can facts be devoid of intellect UTV.

  2. I would keep shush you two, Mccleish might come back if he hears you both.

  3. Mcleish to many ccccccccccccccccccccccccccc

  4. I wouldn’t want Mcleish back as what’s gone is gone.I will stick with Lambert as I do believe even now he will come good.I don’t prefer defensive managers im more a have a go man.I think if Lambert can manage to sure up the defends we will be fantastic. As for his record at the moment is worse than mcleishes but Lambert will make good UTV.Positive vibration.

  5. If he’s getting frustrated that his goals aren’t amounting to much then he should start performing better at corners (I think there’s been a few that could have been stopped).

That’s all. Regardless, he’s the best striker we’ve had in ages, I hope as a team we can start picking up some form. UTV.
