I haven’t been posting much due to my exams, but I’m free; for another 3 months. But more importantly yesterday Aston Villa played against Everton, going into the game I would’ve taken a draw. But after minutes I thought this would’ve been our day, Benteke stronger then defence. N’Zogbia containing lots of creativity and energy and Agbonlahor was fighting for his life out there. Our attack looked good, no question.
It’s our defence that worries me deeply, I think that Dunne should be rushed back. We need that experience in there and Clark needs to step up a little bit, but overall it’s poor. But the team isn’t my topic, it’s the fact that a draw against a good Everton side feels like a defeat. In some ways that can be a good feeling, knowing that a team like ours can get a draw from Everton; but when you put into the equation the fact that we had a two goal advantage something is definitely wrong with us.
All three goals conceded could’ve been cleared out, well maybe not the second but the first, Clark should’ve done better (that’s experience for you) and the second, Vlaar our man got beaten to the ball by Fellaini. Don’t get me wrong I am a fan of Vlaar, he is a leader and has experience. I’m not dropping that, but maybe would switch him our for Dunne.
The substitutions I question a little, we had 6 minutes to go by and if I was the manager I’d try to get the ball forward into the Everton half, get it in the corners and wait it out. Subbing of N’Zogbia wasn’t a good idea, I would’ve taken off Weimann. Wasn’t too good defensively and wasn’t good in attack either (then again we are trying to convince him to stay at the club).
Whatever the positives were, we’re still second bottom with a shit squad and no direction from the owner.
Somehow we have drawn the last 3 prem games away from home (Swansea, baggies and Everton) after leading in them all with only minutes to go. The plus is that due to our form we expected to lose all before kickoff and came away with a point.
The problem is our home form. We were all hoping / expecting to win against Wigan, Southampton and Newcastle and Lost. We are probably all hoping / expecting us to win against West Ham next week. Could it be our young team are scared of playing in front of their own fans at home.
3 games in which we could’ve picked up 9 points. We would’ve never been in such a position
Adam. you know I know, in fact we all bloody know, we needed a CD, we didn’t get one, I think he did go for one’ but demands was to high, Are these players that are so called injured, playing the system? take Jeanus out playing in the first match for QPR, we been paying wages and never used him to much affect for us. take Dunne, because we need a man with experience he’s injured, are they really out of the game, or are they scamming, there something they know that we dont imo, In the summer we will start to lose good player’s they will move.
