Some of you have have heard this story but on BBC’s live transfer news page, they’ve said that Alan Hutton is on the verge of joining Real Mallorca on a 6-month loan deal. If Hutton plays well I can definitely see him moving there on a permanent deal, but for now a loan deal is in store.
Hutton has had a terrible Villa career and I got to admit, in his Scottish days he was highly rated; but he was never good enough to play in the Premier League. This departure may give Lambert the ability to bring in one new player.
However, no money is actually brought in and with only 4 days left of the transfer window. A loan deal seems the most likely, nonetheless we need strengthen the team since we club is in crisis and very little is being done from the board.
That’s Hutton and warnock gone. Must mean at least one new face in!
ceefax this morning says that Warnock is being offered on a free to West Ham. So the saga of the unwanted full backs may end soon.
Hoping for good things from Lowton and Bennett but I see them making lots of errors. Esp Bennett, who i think is more limited than Lichaj or Stevens.
However we are going down the young and cheap route. WHere it leads to we can only wonder and keep our fingers crossed

Buy cheap, buy twice!
Mate we all know where that is going to lead us down & out and if not careful could end up the next Noses god forbid.
sadly jeff at aston villa it is buy expensive sell cheap. I can see why randy is rocked off with having his money wasted. WHatever we think about the short term long term we have to do something to get the club sorted. Swansea, West Brom and Stoke are well run football clubs. They do not waste money and resources like we do, so we should stop being arrogant and copy them

…well said Trevor.
Dead right Trevor. I long for the time that Villa buy players with a higher resale value. If we can do that on a sustained basis we can expect reinvestment as it will pay off. This hasn’t harmed Spurs so it needn’t hurt us. It can be done but it needs to be a strategy that we stick with. That means sticking with the manager as well. Watching it unfold is really demoralising but the key thing is where are we in two years time, but it is tough right now.
Won’t he get ill living so far from his beloves Scotland?
Hutton should be playing, granted he is not great but there is no doubt he is a better player than lowton, who in unbelievably weak and gets beaten every game. Yet another piece of poor management from lamberk
i would play hutton just because he is a scrapper and lowton seems to be loseing confidence . but saying that i think lowton will end up being a good full back for us in a season or two, well compared to bennett who looks total shit.
Herd could do a job at right back.
