Well I have been catching up on what happened last night.
And I like what I have read. I like Mat Kendrick but Lambert totally blanked him yesterday and I am pleased about that. Why is this ? Nothing against Mat but it shows that there is some fight in Lambert, some desire to put this whole sorry mess behind us.
A lot will disagree but maybe he needs a bit of under siege mentality, maybe we need to be nasty and if Mat gets caught in the crossfire, so be it. Last night apparently Lambert and Pat Murphy had a set to about who was the most boring. Pat Murphy asked Lambert does he sleep at night and Lambert said,
‘Yes I listen to your questions’ (or something like that !!)
I love that attitude, I love not taking the BS anymore from journos’ They will squeal that the fans deserve answers but Lambert has always been open with us, nothing is hidden. Maybe it is time for him to show he is angry and stop pretending otherwise. After all Fergie is a perfect example of this and few Man U fans moaned that he banned the BBC for 10 years because they were successful.
I am NOT comparing Lambert to Fergie but anger and being pissed off is good and maybe this is the fight back ?
This & your previous post are total garbage Ian.
A turning point? Keeping the ball for 20mins whilst creating nothing. He is reacting to the press because he is feeling the pressure not because he is showing any fight. Its the same rubbish that comes out of his mouth after every game and what happens? We lose.
He is totally out of his depth and should be sacked this weekend. If he is still in charge on Tuesday then god help him because the few that turn up will turn on him.
Very suprised with your comments Ian as I usually agree with you.
Lambert OUT.
GarethVilla agree, Ian why do you change like the wind, get behind the Villa ffs man we have had enough, we all have, they have got to go, and its no good you throwing it back and say who? any one that has knowledge of football, because that twat dont, and you know that. And as for Kendrick a brave man to question a idiot for answers that even he dont know. Lambert has had his chance get the fuck out of Villa Park, he is now laughing at the fans.
I changed like the wind because yesterday made me change it showed simply the fault of the whole mess as Morgan says is something deep within the club.
I could easily say ‘told you so’ about Lambert, I will not, I mean say Lambert turned us down who the hell would have took on this impossible job
It was obvious to all that the money was not on the table in the first place, So what do we get a none proving idiot that believes he can change football and break agents and players. All this at the cost of Villa football club and agony for the fans, how can you and anyone else ask people to give money to that load of shite.?
so answer my point, who would we have got under Lerner ?
So your saying, Doug Ellis is to blame, its all about money, but again Ian, why go to the games, to my mind your helping it to be like it is, stop away, no one will hold onto a failing business in this day and age with common sense. The Yank has to go so walk away and dont give money, the club will not die but its assets will go, we where the ones that built Villa, we deserve to have better.
Bill under Ellis I called for him to go and not the endless managers and the shite ones …
Same goes for Lerner so we are on the same songsheet but the difference is I see no point at all in getting rid of Lambert.
Correct GV. This is like groundhog day. Every game is a ‘must win’ which we never do. The next match will always be the one that will see us turn a corner which we haven’t. Fans need to get behind the team and cheer, they have done in their thousands in spite of the dross being churned out. It’ll be better when Vlaar comes back from injury, he’s been as shit as the others. Post match interviews, the same old same old week after week. Pl has no plan B, he had a preseason to bring in players to replace the ones that either left or HE alientated and he’s had all of January to fix the problem of the weakest midfield I can rememeber in my 40 years.
RL and PF should be hounded out of VP for wheeling that twat out on WM and Tom Toss yesterday for a PR stunt. We want our Villa back!!
NONSENSE, the only thing LAM-BERK needs to do is piss off out of our once proud club. Anyone who called for mcleish to go and is not doing the same against lam-berk is fickle and has proven the main reason they didn’t want mcleish was the blues link.
He is reacting to the press as they are putting pressure on his dismal record and so they should. He is an embarrassment.
A man of integrity would walk away but lam-berk is a clueless buffoon that thinks he can pull the wool over the fan eyes. He can’t even speak clearly let alone manage effectively, he is a disaster zone.
belcs mate fully agree i wonder if Lamberk came to VP thinking it was in London the same as his major signing Benteke. So when he finds out exactly where VP is he has a mission to heap disgrace upon our great club and the great City of Birmingham making both club and Birmingham the laughing stock of the world.
So you want Lambert out, another manager out. Look at Everton Moyes has been in several relegation battles and the club stuck by him. Man Utd Fergie five terrible seasons and a deflected goal against Forest kept him his job. The rest is history. We are not Man Utd but we are an Everton. We cannot keep sacking managers. The problem at Villa go back a number of years. Money spent on overrated has beens, We need to rebuild and in that process we have to take the good with the bad.Unfortunately at the moment there is more good than bad. Villa fans wanted Lambert and to dismiss hiim would be stupid. Read an article the other day about the goals we have avoided. the conceding from corners and set pieces seems to have been our achilles heal. 27 under Houllier, 29 under Mcleish and 27 this season under Lambert. We badly need a ball winning centre back. I would seel Bent and use the money to invest in a CB and defensive midfielder. Lets get behing Lambert, bitching is not helping. The claub will go nowhere until we have stability,
Well said.. We need to get behind them Villa till we die and support through bad times will see us out the other side with a stable club and foundation to build on!!!
The last thing we need is another manager! PL was fantastic at Norwich! The problems are above PL! If PL was to leave who would replace him? We need to see this transition through! IMO it’s our chairman who needs to do one! We are in this mess due to the shambles of the past 3/4 years!
Yes Lambert should go. Doesn’t matter how many managers we have had, lamberk is the worst and you cannot deny that as you only have to look at results and statistics.
It was a stupid decision to bring him here, as anyone could see he needed more time to prove he wasn’t the next Coyle or Phil Brown. Also well done to those that sang his name at Norwich last season, you got the useless twerp you wanted
To compare Randolph to Bill Kenwright is utter tosh pal. BK has been open and honest with the fans each season regularly speaking at forums and even going as far as making the balance sheet public and asking what more he could do. He has sought a buyer for the club and anything he does is transparent. Everton have sold their best players and reinvested wisely each season. We are not ‘an Everton’ we are a badly run shower of shit club that are dying the death of a thousand cuts
I did try and get a different angle on this but never mind.
Those saying Lambert out , well you really think Lerner has any clue to pick a replacement, more like to end up with Glenn Roeder.
So Lambert out solves absoutely nothing …
Lambert staying solves nothing to Ian. I think we are fucked either way
there is no obvious replacement
I agree with ianrobo!!!
I would add if there was an obvious and viable replacement I would say go Laambert but there is not.
Is Adkins though I rate him any different to Lambert, speaking to a Saints fan at work he thinks little between them.
Ian, since the Chelsea nightmare Lambert has overseen a run of the worst defeats in the clubs history-its been shambolic.
Just to ‘we can’t sack another manager’ is stupid. If he remains in charge then we are down. Lets at least give ourselves a chance. He is tactically inept, his team selections get worse, there is no shape to the team. The bloke is useless.
Once again, Lambert OUT.
who in then ?? no one at the cub capable of taking over, forget romantic notions of Cowans, he would not cut it
The squad is shit, even with a joint management team of Fergie, Mourinho and Wenger we would still have to put up with this shower of shite. I thinkk we have serious behind the scenes problems at Villa and lambert will conveniently get the blame
indeed, just like Mcleish and Houllier …..
Something happen when MON left which changed it all, previous players like Collins then became ‘trouble makers’ no one has asked what happened
MON had his faults but i think the day he walked is the day our problems really started and the club has not recovered it has no plan b, in fact it has no plan a.
but why did the likes of Collins and Dunne who caused few problems under MON suddenly went wrong ..
Was it really Houllier’s fault or something else ?
this is not about MON as such but what changed, few of his players left and yet no heart or soul there, something a Lambert side has never lost
I think something was happening before that did the players not send champagne texts when MON walked. Drop this lot and sign up the bradford 11 they would do better than most of the first team. If i see bannan wear our shirt again i will not watch another game until he is dropped completely or sold, sick of the sight of him. Who the fuck does he think he is, he cant actually play the game, lambert would win favour if he sent him to train with Warnock
but most of that squad has gone … only 3 or 4 remain ..
I do wonder, I have a theory but will not post in public.
Ian tell!
It basically is without naming names this
two players are at the heart of this, two players you may not think are the ones (real out Dunne for example). They influence the others and I believe until they leave no manager can survive.
Some signings have been questionable and some would make sense if what you say is right ireland played at man city with Dunne as did Given both are irish as well. As is Clark, it does look like AVFC have an old boys network running things behind the scenes
lamberk is a buffoon and that is a fact ……………..he is making a rod for his own back by ignoring the press now they will be gunning for him and its his fault …………ian you can spin this how you want but he you can say he is doing a siege mentality . is that going to stop the goals coming in from corners ?
History is repeating itself, last time we got relegated we had 3 managers in 3 years-Tony Barton, Graham Turner and the one and only Billy McNeil.
stability, Chelsea get away with it because they still have the core of Cole, Lampard and Terry but guess what, will win fuck all this season after spending so much in the summer
You read this on My Old Man?
“Another thing, when did we start fighting with our own fans? I’m not sure where the idiots have suddenly come from, but kindly leave. We’ve enough problems on the pitch, let alone off it.”
I’ve noticed this kind of thing happening in the Holte too, just what the fuck is going on?
been happening forever, saw it in 1987, saw it under Gregory, MON etc too much beer and high temperature.
I am guessing they are talking about half time in the concourse ?
Still so much delusion from the “in lambert we trust” muppets. What he did at Norwich is irrelevant, wasn’t long ago people were singing the praises of Coyle and now nobody will go near him. Same is happening with lamberk, he has to go.
Without doubt Mcleish was better and Houllier was far above both of them.
Take a step back, in the space of 5 weeks we have been humiliated by lower league opposition in both cups. suffered record defeats in the PL (home and away), lost crucial relegation battles at home including thrashing by Wigan and thrown away points due to dreadful defending at set plays.
Sorry, but there is no defence for lamberk. Any other chairman would have sacked him but lerner is weak and as deluded as our idiot manager
And there we have it this is exactly what was supposed to happen Lambert another scapegoat because Lerner won’t fund his precious franchise. It is simple Lower quality you get lower standards.Doesnt matter who is managing the standards are lower because the team is of a lower standard. This way the manager always gets the flack and the head honcho takes the revenue.Randy won’t invest big premiership money so Lambert has to buy into the young and hungry ethos to take the job.The young and hungry arnt as good as proper quality prem players because they are young and make silly young player mistakes that cost games. In a nut shell everyone is doing the same as with Mcleish the problem was and is their before McLeish.Lambert has a really good managerial record he is a good manager. The players are young make game costing mistakes. We have young players because its what Randy wants for the future as they will get better. This is Randys doing.
I don’t think anyone s denying Lerner has a huge role to play in our demise, but like it or not it is a FACT that lamberk had over 20m in the summer, most of which he wasted on dross like el ahmadi, bennett and lowton. He could have kept hutton and warnock (both far superior), should have kept collins and spent big in central midfield. Swansea for example bought Flores, Michu and loaned De Guzman all for under 5m, 3 excellent players.
Will the lamberk fan club that still somehow exists tell everyone is our squad good enough to beat Bradford or Millwall or the other teams near the bottom of the PL because it should be. It didn’t though because of poor management, poor coaching, poor tactics. That is down to lambert. He should never manage our proud club again, let alone if we go down. I cannot support a club any longer with a manager so inept he cannot even speak properly to the players without mumbling some garbage
i think Paul lamberts fan club has dwindled and i think he is out of his depth, however i believe certain players need to go before he does and i also think the board need to make changes because we cant keep on saying sack the manager every year, its blatant that something rotten is eating away at our club and that happened way before Paul Lambert or even Big Eck came in, I want all of those toss pot so called footballers gone first, i then want the board gone or drastic changes made at the top of the club, at that point paul lambert should then be asked to leave as well
to totally clean the club, I ask
Do we need to go down ?
I think most of us are trying to think this is happening but relegation was on the cards for us the day we appointed Alex mcLeish let alone Paul Lambert
