Humiliation but not Lambert out, LERNER OUT

Well there we are.

I am so bloody angry I can barely type this. Many will call for Lambert’s head, you are wrong. This is the greatest humiliation of our history but I do not call for Lambert OUT.

I call for Lerner OUT. I call for Lerner to put this club up for sale tonight. His failures are there for all to see over the past few years and now he has to face the ultimate music. His picks, his managers, his policies have all led to this and all led to the worse football day in Villa lives.

Well you have saved me money Randy from a trip to the over hyped and expensive Wembley Randy I hope you are are happy in saving money. Our downfall is nearly complete and another manager has been destroyed by you.

Some fans will blame Lambert won;t you, well like under Ellis, stop blaming the monkey and blame the organ grinder or will we have another fall guy ?

  1. According to BBC Sport even if we are relegated then lambert will keep the job, beofre we all respond angrily to that decision, this tells me the club have been preparing for relegation all along, they have no ambition and dont give a toss about fans.

This board has to go and the sooner the better anyone got any ideas

  2. its the rite decision . u can’t keep blaming managers, players need 2 been accountable, they are the ones on the field plus this is hardly lamberts team a youth squad players and rejects from past regimes

  3. Absolute joke if its true that lambert is still here even when we go down. If thats the case, then I am finished with this club under Randy Lerner.

  4. You talk utter garbage Nathan Withe. He spent £20m in the summer, signing 7 players + inheriting Holman, thats nearly a new team.
Lambert is the worst manager this club has ever had & if he stays then we are down.
In the summer, there was 3 clubs that made managerial changes, ourselves, Swansea & Liverpool. All those teams entered the transfer market. Now, Swansea have been excellent under Laudrup, Liverpool after a sticky start are settling down & then there’s us. Paul Lambert tactically is clueless & apart from Benteke, his signings a joke. If something is wrong then you change it.
    Lambert is useless.

    • Exactly Gareth. Things have not progressed at all, fair enough if we could see signs of improvement but we have regressed to the point that league two clubs are taking the piss out of us. Lambert is not fit to manage another training session at our great club, never mind another match, yet the idiot board want to keep him on. Its a farce and everyone else is laughing at us for our ineptitude in every department.
Any other PL chairman would have sacked lam-berk but we are stuck with Lerner, who watches from afar, with no idea what is going on. I have never seen a club with so little leadership and direction. Lerner is now on a par with the Venkys.
LAMBERT OUT, LERNER OUT, FAULKNER OUT

    • Sorry Gareth, he’s not the worst manager – McLeish? Taylor? Houllier? Venglos? McNeill? Cummings?
The problem is systemic – we’ve humiliated ourselves and the city.

    • You mean If things are still wrong after 8 months With the new manager and the previous 2 seasons are not taken into account.

I love reading posts that only deal in absolutes!
If you are not first place you are last!
Why hasn’t the world figures out that if something not working you change it and it will work immediately. Or if it doesn’t change it again and so on

  5. What a shambles in the final 20 minutes 4 strikers on the pitch, all playing within width of the penalty area – no width, no space, no creativity, no variety – and worst of all no direction from the manager to pull players into the right positions – he simply doesn’t have a plan. Gabby and Zog should have been told to hug the touchlines make space and run at the full backs – that would have left space for Weimann to come in to a free role as our most likely scorer. Delph could then have had some support from Holman on in place of Ireland – surely the most ineffective powder puff player to ever earn such ludicrous wages.
Bennett is nowhere near good enough defensively – we need experience – what did Warnock ever do to get so exiled?
Worse than no idea is the manager’s stubborn view that he will do things his way and we are on the right lines. We know where you are taking us…

  6. Sorry Lerner may have a wage restriction and may not spend the most but 20 mill is sufficient funding. If it was me id be pumping 20 mill into the defence and midfield. Stick with Bent up front with agnonlahor or wieman. Imagine what sort of winger or defensive midfielder you could get for 10 to 12 mill.

  7. you r talkin utter rubbish ~ the 7 players ur sayin are young and cheap , apart from beneke viaar and el missing.plus none av played premier b4,all are on less wages than last regime recruitments, lamberts doin just as good with less of wage budgets / until some of the dead wood goes its impossible 4 who ever u can suggest could preform a miracle ~ ur talkin rubbish tell me who u want 2 perform the miracle on a show string budget lmao

    • Nathan he has a point mate which ever way you try and brush it up.. i was a PL fan.. i would still love for him to turn it around..

BUT what i saw in the last 30 minutes showed me the guy doesn’t have a clue.. stuck four upfront.. N Zog in the hole.. we had NO width.. NO idea what we were doing.. it was just lump ball into a crowded box.. something Bradford are used to week in week out.. over TWO legs we couldnt beat a fourth tier team.. PL got his tactics totally wrong and showed he can’t organise a defence or have a plan B..

It was embarrassing last night.. fair enuf come out with some positives but to blindly just say he is doing a good job is ridiculous… we are staring down the barrel mate…

      • yeah i totally agree i do take off my villa glasses sometimes / if villa continued 2 play the way they did first half ~ for sure they would av beaten bradford but the spine of our team is naive, delph and bannan are lackin exprience and ability 2 effect the game.thats our engine ~ i was cringing the way second half went pumping long balls in2 a crowded box hoping beneke heads it, when bennett was sub so our shape dissappeared with wembley

        • That my point mate.. i know chopping and changing a manager doesn’t help.. but is PL the man to stick with.. i have concerns about his ability to organise a defence.. the tactics after they scored i still can’t get over.. as you say if we continue to play the way we did in first half we could have done it.. but that is our story for the entire season so something is an issue.. and when at 1-1 you need your manager to show his worth PL collapsed..

Banan and Ireland shouldn’t wear a VIlla shirt again..

Obv Lerner hasn’t helped with no funding this Jan.. Newcastle on verge of snapping up Gouffran and Cissoko for a mere 4.5M combined.. fantastic business..

I just hope we can pull of three players by end of Jan.. a CB and 2 x CM otheriwse we are down IMO :-(

          • sometimes players do not carry the managers tactics off, i reckon ur rite with bannan and ireland ~ i do like westwoods but one good cm is needed with experienced cos as u know soon as we are up against it we are folding, its a must 2 get sumat in centre midfield who i av no idea

          • Nathan.. Westwood is decent.. if we could add a Diame/Cissoko/M Villa type of player next to him that makes us solid… we also need another midfielder.. a winger or a better version of Ireland/Banan.. that would mean our midfield is tough and you can have Delph on the bench to come on for last twenty minutes to help out..

Def need another CB to come in too.. a LB is needed too but i doubt we will go for one..

We have left it late.. it has cost us league points and a CUP Final place.. but that has gone we can’t turn back the clock.. lets make sure we gte the players in to enable us to survive and we build on it…

          • u know thats not gonna happen / they aren’t gonna spend a penny, i hope iam wrong but i think they are hoping that wot we have is enough ~ i know midfield is pants hopefully dunne strengthens defence and we beg for a midfielder on loan

          • Disgraceful if we don’t strengthen.. even a blind man can see what we have isn’t enuf..

          • totally agree

    • What dead wood was there last night. Zog played ok and gabby will never go. Ireland fair enuf. But most if dead wood is lamberts doing

      • Its more the fact Warnock Hutton Dunne Given Ireland are all not in our plans yet all collecting on average 50K a week..

  8. To be honest I don’t think that it will make a blind bit of difference whether Lambert stays, walks or gets the bullet. Like many on here, I advocated patience with Lerner and his new managerial team, but that was based on the (apparently naive) assumption that although the task ahead was difficult, our approach would be structured and disciplined, and would see us move forward steadily over the course of the season. Instead, we have simply disintegrated, with each new game seeing us plumb new depths of ineptitude. Tactically we are woeful, and we lack discipline, leadership, and confidence. Our wretchedness is such that it’s almost comical, Laurel and Hardy like, to see.
We can talk about a change of manager, or who we might still get in player wise during what remains of Jan, but for me the damage done is so extensive, the rot at the club seemingly so corrosive and deep, that it’s as though paralysis has set in at Villa Park. In my view, Harry Houdini and a budget of 200 mill couldn’t turn this disintegrating mess into an organised and motivated outfit between now and the end of the season, and relegation looks inevitable. Of course, a miracle might just occur, by some means we might contrive to survive, but I think that’s what it will take, a miracle. I used to be a lemming, but like most of us now I think, I’ve been disabused of those notions by just about everyone, owner, board, CEO, management team and players alike, at Villa Park. Thanks, guys, you really do earn your keep.

  9. Only way to get through to Lerner is boycott, mind you I can easily see sub 20k games in the championship next season, even lower if that dour, mumbling buffoon lam-berk is still here.

  10. Youre not alone there mate.

  11. Just picking up what langford said earlier regarding the fan who had a cardiac arrest,i wish them a speedy recovery.jeff sycamore i hope your feeling better mate.

  12. Well thats it for me with villa until lerner gone were relegated now, so dont bother turning up now your only help destroy villa further

    • Me to not bothering now. I don’t want to support this shit anymore. There was more hope and expectation when I supported them in the old div 3. Enough is enough anyone that continues to support this regime needs their heads read!

  13. I think its time EV1 by any which way they want to gets their point across to Lerner EV villa fan should take it to Lerner.

    • JD Lerner dosnt care. If he was that bothered he would sack the mumbling buffoon and get blanc in with 20m to stay up. Lerner has all but admitted that lamberts brief was to take us down and rebuild for the championship which is what he is doing. The problem is most of his players arn’t even good enough to get into Bradford ffs

  14. The way things are going,we will be joining Bradford in league 2 very shortly.I was a fan of Lambert ,the second half last night was a nightmare, We still cant defend corners, what is going on. I really think we are going down this year , but i hope not.

  15. Yesterday I was full of nervous anticipation, how villa could get their season back by outplaying a League 4 team. Today, I just feel well, empty. First half I was full of hope, surely getting ourselves back to 3:2 was enough to spur them on. Was it fuck. The team talk at half time must have been brilliant – not!!! And then to destroy any structure the team has he brings on two more strikers. Totally inept. Lambert must go, he has made a poor team, even worse. He has signed 7 players, only one of which is worthy (you can’t count Holman). Never thought I would be saying this – but Lambert out.

  16. people defending lambert like he has a clue what he is doing. no tactics whatsoever, play all the strikers you like if youve got no with to give them service its pointless

  17. I think we’d all see the difference if we did bring in Mourinho. He’d get the best out of the players, but he’d also definitely want to strengthen most areas of our team!

  18. For me after last nights performance Bannan should be the first one to pull on a shirt on Friday at Millwall!!!!………………………..but be made to stand with the Millwall fans.

  19. I would love to blame randy Lerner but unfortunately Paul lamberts policy isn’t working. How can you pick players from the championship, leagues 1&2 put them in to an 11 and expect them to compete? As a villa and Exeter city fan it doesn’t work. Personally I think it’s naive, I didn’t play Paul lamberts standard, clearly but as a reasonable footballer playing in the western league, even I know you need to blend youth with experience, grow up Paul!

    • I could not have put it better. We need a proper old school manager, problem is there aren’t many about.

      • I would take curbs surprised so many clubs have over looked him, what he achieved at charlton should not be overlooked

    • Mark, sorry about my last blast but I love the villa, he’s got it wrong but I suppose we must have faith!

      • To trv32, I’m gutted as a villa fan since 77, we need experience!

        • I agree, I don’t live in Birmingham but have supported them forever, I was there when we beat man city 1-0 in the championship season! Experience in midfield and defence is what we need. 5 goals from set pieces from a premiership club against lower opposition. Isn’t good enough, though respect for the lower league clubs, as I said I’m also an Exeter city fan!
