15:06 – Vital set of games for us today starting off badly with Wigan going 1-0 up against Sunderland. I still think Fulham are in the relegation mix and they went 1-0 down straight away to Man City.
As for us we have to put on a show and hopefully win, we can not afford many more confidence sapping heavy defeats. For the team I expect Vlaar to start and Baker possibly at Left Back but not many other changes.
There were 3 or 4 players not marking on that corner.Why? Its basic defending. Benteke isnt a great defender, so just leave him up front, its not rocket science, he is much danger playing on the counter-attack.
We played well in the first half and then sat back. Again why? It doesnt work. We did exactly the same against United, Swansea…with the same outcome,
We need a centre back and centre mid before the end of the transfer window else we are going down. And not from Division 1 either.
..its no game plan to defend deep but we can´t handle the pressure with our midfield. Bannan isn´t Prem quality. And about corners and Benteke: everybody has to defend so our best header has to come back, although he isn´t very clever in this department.
CNZ was awesome today, we played well throughout the first half and they took the second half.
We played better than we have in a long time, but we only play well when given space, if we dont have space then we seem to not do anything at all and ,make lots of errors. Cant really grumble about our players today, just second half tactics nearly lost us the game.
Got to say gabby and olsson should not have got yellow cards and is Odenwinghie the most over rated player in the premier league and brunt very under rated
No doubt lam-berk will come out with the usual “we go again” crap again, quite frankly I couldn’t care less about the cup games. 60m is at stake here and lambert makes those substitutions and as for the defence, what more can be said. Its is woeful beyond belief. Sack lambert and give us some dignity back.
That’s a five man defence aswel. No team in the premier league should run the risk of loosing with 5 men in defence. It is embarrassing. A positive result absolutely And I’m actually pleased. By no stretch of the imagination was it a good result though. Bring on Newcastle I’ll be there and it really is going to be important. A 6 pointer for sure!
Personally, I would have made the same substitutions. For me, Delph was the weak link of the first half and N’Zog was starting to flag a bit. Had we not needed to sub Baker so early I would have taken off Gabby in the end too. If anything losing our lead is more of a reflection of the depth of our squad rather than Lamberts ability as a manager.
Baker couldn´walk anymore and Delph looked injured too.

That’s because bannan does absolutely fuck all. Glad n’zogbia is starting to pick up and is improving game by game. A defensive injury isn’t good though so hope that forces lerners hand to let lambert buy asap

Any reason why n’zogbia was taken off? Game changed more when he went. Played a blinder! Bad to lose to yet another set piece but its still a decent point.
