Well Sometimes you see a story and you know it is rubbish.
Tomorrow’s Daily Express carries a story on the back page claiming we are interested in Roberto Di Matteo.
Reading the very very small print you can see they claim that Villa would be interested in the sacked West Brom manager if the decline continues. I do look at some links and think to myself, yeah these sound plausible, these could be right.
I look at this link and think utter and total rubbish. I know people will say he won the European cup but that was all about Terry, Lampard etc. His record at West Brom in the top flight says the true story about him and give me Lambert any time over RDM.
I know a few people would be desperate to see Lambert to go but with Di Matteo I am 100% we would be relegated with him.
PS. When I used to do transfer stories you may have had 2/3 a day easy and could not keep up. Bloody hell, it says something that now we have so little even rumours, no matter how stupid they are to discuss.

I have to come to realise that not any good rate manager can come into any club and make it work. There is a lot that has to work for them. For me I think lambert is doing a lot better that most could. That said I genuinly believe martinez fits the bill more than any other. His squad love him and the first thing they do the momment they are safe is run to the manager an pick him up. He has won relegation battle after relegation battle. Over the last 3 seasons I think last weekend and festive period have topped me of. I will always love the villa, always support the villa but I can’t even bring myself to watch highlights in tv anymore yet alone watch a match. Im lucky and young enough to have only seen my club in top flight football so for me when we are relegated its unthinkable. Randy this is by fare the worst season in the history of football to be relegated!

If we lose tomorrow I think Lamberts got to go, if not for him but the survival of Aston Villa in the Premiership. I’ve stood by the man all season but time and points are starting to run out. His buying young policy has totally back fired, chances are if we do face the dreaded drop half of these players will leave anyway?

There could be some truth behind the article,maybe the club have put him on alert if forthcoming fixtures dont go our way it simply carn’t be ruled out.maybe lerner’s losing faith in pl & wont part with any more money.if that is the case bring di matteo in now why were still in the window.even trying to be positive i also have my reservations.

thing is the roads around the ground are high priority ones arent they and thus they will be clear in 24 hours time, so I do expect the match to go ahead. I remeber a couple of years ago that West Brom were the only ground to have a PL game because of snow

Please no Di Matteo, his tenure at Chelsea is irrelevant as he has world class players there, while here he will be stuck with the same old disruptive senior players and dreadful academy players. Look at his time at West Brom for a more relevant insight and that is hardly great.
No matter who is in charge, the squad needs overhauling. We are completely screwed and as much as lambert has done a poor job, our problems run so much deeper than the manager. Players, CEO and Chairman are all out of their depth.

I read elsewhere that it might be something to do with the fact that the board want to cash in on two or three players and Adkins was playing his face up about it.
