  1. He’s not the messiah, he’s a very naughty boy. LoB. lol

  2. Pep Guardiola to manage Aston Villa!!!!!!!

    Oh, sorry…it’s Bayern.

  3. I was pro Lambert and am starting to have big doubts. The players he has signed i think could be good given time. Its his tactical nouse i’m concerned about. The basics in setting a team up and in particular defending as a team.
Basics we were taught at school ie
    1) when on the attack make sure you leave one more defender than their attackers
    2) when a full back goes forward a midfielder drops in to cover
    3) If your full back is being attacked the centre half covers and everybody moves over one position.
    4) At corner mark the posts and others pick a man and stick with him.
    5) If playing 442 the wide men when defender drop back and pack the midfield.
Our midfield is lightweight but our defenders are showing no positioning sense.
I’m not seeing any of these by our team at the moment.
All the goals we have been shipping lately in the first minute against southampton they broke and were 2 on 2 in our own box. I couldn’t believe it.
All the above is not rocket science it is football basic defending and everybody should know this especially somebody who is being paid to manage.
I played for the pub that was about my limit but we knew the basics even if we were crap.

  4. Agree with most of the things in your post , i was at norwich last season singing lamberts name but it was mainly out of desperation . I would never off comprehended he would do a worse job than AMC . Suppose you should be careful what you wish for .
Having said that i dont believe he is soley to blame , the club has been badly affected by Lerner’s asset stripping and his over eagerness has turned us into a bottom 4/5 club/championship side .

  5. Barry bannan, the best crosser in the premier league? http://hitc.co/40841

  6. VV… Well spotted mate… Do you think its accurate?

    • If I’m honest The stat that matters is the 1 assist. I guess as the question at the end states. Is it the lack of finishing in the team that’s making his crossing not seem so superb? He should be doing more but not since dunne and Collins early days have we looked dangerous on set plays/corners.

      • Fuckin hell Southampton have come bk to 2.2 from 2 down at Chelsea. FFs we lost 8.0 lambert out

        • We really are so so shit, and we are the quietest team in the Premierships transfer window….. Speechless

          • Beyond a joke now. Every other team is showing promise, yet we are in the biggest mess by far and NOTHING, no suggestion that any players will be coming in any time soon. Clueless prats, the lot of them, get lambert and faulkner out now.

          • belcs;
Beyond a joke? Mate, it’s got to the point where all I can do is have a laugh about it, otherwise I’d be sobbing into my beer!

          • Sorry Belcs cant sack Faulkner for a few hours…..He is eating his tea (may take an hour or two)
Jokes aside we have waited for great signings or a breath of fresh air for so many transfer windows and we always end up disappointed, we cant sell anyone because they are shit and noone wants to join us because we cant organise shit!

  7. Chelsea have conceded 2 goals to make it 2 all vs. Southampton.
    Oh dear…

  8. Great point for Southampton tonight.
Just under a month ago a tin-pot team lost 8-0 there.
    Discusting.
    Lambert OUT.

    • It’s because we didn’t give Benitez the villa job! On a serious note, we’re f*cked unless something drastic happens before the deadline

  9. When we got thumped by Chelsea, the excuse was that they were a top side. Well look at the results not only Southampton but QPR pulled out against them. Mind you, we only have ourselves to blame, we gave Southampton 6 points on a plate with two diabolical performances. Lets face it, we deserve to go down. Every single department from manager, players, CEO and chairman have done a dreadful job and they all deserve relegation.

  10. Chelsea have really shafted us.. lost to QPR drew with Southampton.. hell Southampton even have a 4 point lead ( if u take into account goal difference ) over us..

I genuinely believe if we can’t beat either West Brom or Newcastle we are down..

The thing that hurts the most is the Lerner can’t even pull out any money to save us.. QPR are attempting it and there resources are nowhere near like ours..

    • I reckon we’ll sign two or three players at 23.59 on deadline day, in effect saving Lerner a month’s wages on each. Genius.

    • That’s true about the relative wealth of the owners. I guess there are a couple of differences though:
      1. Fernandes is a relatively new owner so is in the honeymoon period where Lerner also invested heavily. Lerner has had his fingers burnt.
      2. He made his own wealth where Randy inherited his. Maybe that makes him more of an entrepreneur and prepared to take more of a risk.
Really not sure where that leaves us. Even with a bit of luck with injuries it is optimistic to think we can turn things around. With 2 weeks to go in the transfer window it looks like there is going to be no major investment. Looking bleak.

  11. I just can’t see how lambert can survive another defeat against west brom. This run of ‘form’ has been an absolute disgrace. But I can’t see lerner sacking him. If we persist with the current players, what teams will we finish above. The only possibility is Reading but even they are picking up and signing players. This leaves me to conclude that we are completely screwed. Thanks a bunch Randy and Paul.

    • Lerner seems to have no choice but to back Lambert in the market or sack him, yet we’re nearly at the end of the 16th day of January, with no tangible sign that he’s prepared to do either. Changing the manager again can only cause yet more disruption and turmoil, yet we’ve reached a point where results are so dire, you’d kind of expect the manager to be sacked… The proverbial vicious circle. Paralysis seems to have set in at Villa Park.

      • I think Lerner is of the opinion of if I don’t no what to do then do nothing. It wouldn’t surprise me if he kept things exactly as they are tbh. Shows how shit our players and management are losing 8.0 to a team that saints and qpr have took points of. These teams are scrapping for their lives where we have just put up the white flag pathetic.

        • I think that’s what gets me most, ooha. I’ve seen us go down before and it feels like shit, but you could put up with it if we seemed to be showing some grit and guts, at least looking to go down fighting, as it were. But as you say, it’s like we’re just looking to go down, period. We look shot to bits just when Saints, QPR etc are showing some signs of life. It’s as though the whole club, from Lerner downwards, has become paralysed. It’s gruesome to watch.

          • Spot on Davidg. There is no fight no leadership no desire. Something is seriously wrong at the club as Lerner and the rest of the management look helpless and are waiting for something to happen rather than be pro active and make it happen. Lerner stands to lose circa a £100m when we go down yet he is completely out of his depth and needs to seek advice from shrewd football people pronto.

  12. What about trying Bentekkers in midfield, similar to what Everton do with felanii? Weiman and bent upfront?

Or wait, he ain’t a midfielder you say? Our mid field is a fucking joke, worth a shot I reckon

  13. Start boycott games now rip up your season tickets dont give lerner another penny, the rebillion has to start now wake up lads boycott and protest now

  14. Lambert is definately not the messiah.
What he is,is the worst manager in Villa s long and illustrious history.
We have to get rid ,NOW.

  15. I will go along with that Ted, Ive no willing left to bother knowing our state…that would be the only desire for me.

  16. call yourself villains, u all should be ashamed, why don’t you support your team and manager plus players.
there’s a time 2 analyze wot happened after the season ends, i for one want to watch premier football next season.
aston villa need you get behind the team and staff if we all pull in the same direction we may have a chance . supporters support your team you love

    • Nathan.. what are you on about mate.. this is a message board.. we DEBATE stuff.. whatever gets said on here has NO impact on the team.. on Sat were you at the game and the support the team got!? That’s where the support matters..

Here we are discussing how we are a sinking ship and what can be done about it…!!

      • iam sure if the players read this or lambert iam sure it would be the encouragement they need
carry on ripping season tickets up and playing fantasy football and let the real manager and staff get on with getting us out of this mess

        • Where oh where are the real managing staff at Villa ? your in cloud cuckoo land Nathan Withe. for gods sake go follow sheep .

          • Nathan we all support the team mate and I thought the support on Saturday, especially the 2nd half was fantastic… The problem is as we have a manager who has not got a clue how to get out of this mess, an owner who no longer cares and a Ceo who knows more about doughnuts and Greggs sausage rolls than football… And if anything by the way of their recent relationship with the fans goes they wouldnt read these type of blogs because they simply dont give a shit.. !

  17. NUMBERT OUT
