Radio 5 have just said that QPR have hijacked the Newcastle bid for Remy.
Of course for some Villa fans they will very worried that is all gloom and doom, I do not. I still think we could go down but not because of that because QPR will join us. Yes they are also likely to get M’Vila but they are just mercenaries who made sure that they will have get out clauses. QPR’s wage bill is already massive at over double their revenue and that simply should not be allowed and we can not compete with that anyway.
I know it is easy for some fans to say look at so and so a club and thats what we should do, but it is not. There is no quick answer for us, we laid out our plans at the beginning of the season and most fans supported them then.
Why not support it now ? We do not have the option of Remy or others so no good beating ourselves up over them we can do nothing abut it can we ? If the plans fail then we will be relegated and we can tear ourselves up over it but to go back would be a football disaster.
If we suddenly panic buy and bring in a load of shot in an attempt to survive. Surley we have just wasted 3 seasons of reducing wage bill. The whole reason we are here in the first place lol. I believe firmly believe we will finish rock bottom. We will be relegated wit 3 or 4 games left to play. What an absolute embarrassment aston villa has become. This weekend I lost a little love for football. Thanks for everyone envolved at Aston villa. Thanks randy, Faulkner and lambert.
Thomas.. Three good players on 50k a week won’t mess the wage bill up..
We weren’t pro active as per usual..
Whats annoying me is theres nothing coming from villa that they r even looking
It does make me sick how qpr spend beyond their means. However we can’t brush over the fact that the joint bottom scorers in the league with us have just bought a highly rated striker.
Everyone has lambasted our defence, but it’s easy to forget how few goals were scoring. Unless its a case that a quality centre half and defensive mid are going to transform our fortunes in front of goal, but our goals to games ratio is a total disgrace.
I hope qpr go down, but villa should be in a position to acquire a few quality players. Long term we can dispose of the shite we have in the squad anyway.
Sorry lads Ive said to myself we have a stubborn manager , one that will do things his way, you and I will not change or make him do anything that he don’t want to do. Ian we will go down with his attitude. and you know it.
Do you think he wakes up in the morning and says “Porridge! Porridge! “…and that’s probably it as far as his motivation and reality goes.
I think yr right Bill, he’ll take us down ‘His Way’.
Jeff ,Graham, as you know I’m gutted, its OK for some to take it and say give it time , but the system is all wrong to me , professional footballers are waiting to play our Kids every match, our youth dont have that anger in them to fight off big star player’s, they capitulate.
It’s getting so frustrating bill just looked at the transfer rumours & as usual naff all not even a link unless their being hush hush or basically there’s absolutely no one in the pipeline,im starting to get really disilusioned now.
I remember us signing Jean makoun, he looked like such a good player, scored that great goal in the champions league, he played a couple of times for us and for one reason or another it was a disaster. just because a team has signed a player from France does not mean QPR will be safe. it is too early to be looking at other teams, we are in the shit but lets not turn into bitter noses comparing teams and constantly looking out for other teams transfers and results and lets just concentrate on our own. QPR have not just been awarded 9 points they have wasted more money
I wish he’d been given more of a chance at the club. He needed to get used to the speed and physicality of the EPL but had a nice touch.
He might of done it, i remember the newcastle game he got shoved around a lot but he did put through a very good ball to bent for a goal to be disallowed, the point is lets not worry about what other teams are doing, lets just concentrate on ourselves
We need a defensive midfielder and we needed one in the summer. I think pretty much every Villa fan said this during and after last seasons disaster with the ginger blue nose, this is what has worried me, why did Lambert not research our team in depth to see what problems we were having
Birmingham mail are saying we are interested in Cissoko along with Sunderland..
Not all fans bought into the idea but if Lambert through his stubberness will not change then we are going to plummet down the leagues and his ideas will be proven as a total disaster.By taking what four years ago was a top six team and turning them into no more than none league hopefulls .Just dreaming of the day the VILLA maybe reinstated back to the league.Do we fans really want to end up in a situation like this.
The last 3 years is Lerner’s fault, he appointed the managers, he put the restrictions in place. People on here are moaning about remy and m’vila signing for QPR but they’ll be paying them 80k a week. When you only pay championship wages, then you end up with a championship level squad.
Has it ever occured to you Terry that lambert wants to sign higher quality players but cannot due to the restrictions in place? Lerner is at the heart of every problem at this club.
I’ve got to agree with that, who knows what players (and range if ages) lambert would’ve signed in the summer had there not been such strict restrictions imposed because we historically overpaid for average players.
I also agree that it was plain to see we needed a strong DM and CB, amongst other positions on the summer so he is at fault for that.
An owner who rarely turns up and has lost interest !
CEO with no football experience !
A Manager who stubbornly thinks losing games is ok as the team ‘played well’
add to this our awful transfer negotiation skills and the shit way the fans are treated.
……..It is hardly a recipe for years of premiership football !!!
Thomas – I concure. we are down and have no potential in the team to change this situation.
The reluctance to direct the blame at Lambert surprises me. He coaches the team and see the lack of potential in the players but does not appear to have the managerial ability to improve what we see in every game.
If we loose against albion and newcastle , then he will have to go.
We have hit a brickwall as a team and the only way to change this is to change the manager (4 managers in 3 years is crap and the management are inept)
We should be in for Vegard Forren, really strong centre half. looks to be joining Southampton so theres another relegation rival strengthening.
