Transfer Speculation: 12 million bid for Danny Graham

Talksport links Swansea forward Danny Graham with a move to Villa Park, but here’s the catch for 12 million! The 27-year old has often been found on the bench since the summer arrival of Michu. Aston Villa have scored 17 goals in 21 league matches and Paul Lambert maybe on the lookout for more firepower. This move maybe pressured due to Aston Villa’s current league position.

Aston Villa were linked with Robbie Keane earlier in the season but he has since signed a new contract at LA Galaxy and has decided to reject any loan offers. Graham is also being linked with a move to Reading and Sunderland but it’s believed (by TalkSport) that a 12 million bid will be enough for Swansea to let him go.

This isn’t necessarily a crazy story and it could’ve been believable. However with that staggering 12 million price tag I am shocked this made the site. That is the same amount of money Arsenal payed to get Podolski! Graham is not Podolski class, I rate him at 5 million max. But non-theless this is another transfer link and they are going to keep on coming especially since we are in a low League position, in need of reinforcements and Lambert’s made no transfers so far.

  1. Utter rubbish…….. 12 million……….. Who thinks up such stupid price figures……… He’s worth 2 million max

  2. Does anybody know how many villa will be at Bradford ,initially 4,400 but had extra allocation last Thursday

  3. Regardless of his worth we don’t want or need him. What we need is an experienced CH and a fierce DM. We need to stop goals even more than we need to score them. Herbert Chapman Arsenal C/man 1930? said if they cant score you cant lose. At the moment our defence is nonexistent. Teams seem capable of scoring every time they get into our half and PL doesn’t seem to know what to do about it. What will it cost to buy good players compared to relegation.

  4. Get vlaar and dunney back and all will be fine plus an experienced centre mid

  5. How many are we takin to Bradford sold 4400 and then had extras , anyone know ?

  6. Forget these mediocre Strikers, Get Collins and Cuellar back. No really

  7. I’d pay a billion pounds for him because he’s really, really, really, really good.

  8. £12 million! Sounds like a case of the ‘Martin O’Neill’s’ to me! Not sure we’re that desperate for a striker – we need a solid centre back and holding midfielder.

  9. Lambert has decided to panic buy experience. He is in talks with Shane Warne ! Who said he knows less about football than Dean Saunders (who played in a great Villa team which could these days attract the eye of a Russian oligarch or UAE billionaire) ?

  10. A player we should definitely be looking at is Liam Bridcutt from Brighton. Thought we should grab him in the summer. Holding midfielder, good on the ball.

  11. Danny Graham is a very good player, not worth 12m though and definitely not someone we should be signing. One part of the field where we do have good players is up front!!

  12. I agree benno were leaking far too many goals & this area is where we should be prioritising.are going north tonight mate?UTV

  13. Just read that Fulham are apparently in for Huddlestone and Stekelenburg. Why can’t we attempt these sort of quality signings??!!!!

  14. It would be a great signing if we did get Graham but at the end of the day he isn’t worth 12 million, none the less he would be a great asset to the team.
