Apologies that I posted this incorrectly
When Gerald Harris’s Grandaughter posted this on twitter it reminded me of Terry Weir as well
So emotional #ripgeraldharris #avfc #wemissyou
The name of Gerald Harris was on every programme I ever brought when younger, a name as familiar as any player to me. You could say he was MR Programme Man and you knew if you went to him he would have anything you would want. His name as familiar as Terry Weir and his passion as strong as Terry’s for the Villa. When he sold his collection it was worth a whopping £70K, says it all – LINK
As for Terry I had the immense pleasure of being chair of AVISA when Navid Nazir and others did a great job in organising the League champions celebrations for the 25th year that the club could not be bothered to organise. In front of 200 people we had Terry as the guest of honour with some former players that Neil Rioch got involved like Sid Cowans, Tony Morley, Gary Shaw. From Terry we had one of the funniest speeches ever and a night I will always remember. Terry of course was always a folk hero in every away game and a total gentleman.
So tonight lets remember two Villa legends and of course great Villa fans !
