5 Great Reasons why we will beat Arsenal next week

After watching Arsenal this afternoon then I have to say there is no reason at all we will not progress to the 5th round of the FA Cup.

There are quite a few reasons for this level of confidence which I will list here. Some of you may say I am mad for saying this but can you say these reasons are not true ?

The first reason are Arsenal’s full backs. They have had massive injury problems in that area over the past few weeks and look so vulnerable there. Walcott in particular offers no real cover at all and today a young kid played on the other side. If we play Albrighton and N’Zogbia (maybe Gabby) on the wings we will get past their full backs and create the crosses Bent desires.

The second reason is Darren Bent. He has a fantastic record against his boyhood favs and remember the goals last season. If you get the supply in from the wings he will score and we will win.

The third reason is the away form. Whilst we have massive problems at home, away from home we are very good and can win at the so called top teams home grounds. We have become compact away from home and with some pace we are becoming the away team we were under MON.

The fourth reason is Wenger. Has he lost it, the substitution he did today cost Arsenal and he is making increasing bizarre calls. Added to this is the fact he often rests his best players for the FA cup and whilst he would want a trophy he will rest RVP and that is 75% of their threat over.

The fifth, final and not least reason are the Villa fans. We are magnificent away from home and thanks to Randy and free coaches at least 6000 will be travelling next Sunday and will make one hell of a noise against the silence from the red corner.

So no need to be timid about next week. No reason to think Arsenal are anything special, the first choice they could play is certainly NOT special anymore. they are totally beatable, we beat Chelsea away so why not Arse ?

ALL the reasons point towards the 5th round.

Maybe Arsenal players have something else on their mind as well :-)

  1. two reasons why arsenal should coast to victory next week

    (1) Alex Mcleish
    (2) Your awful, negative brand of football. We have no fullbacks but thankfully your style of play means we wont be found out like we were today

  2. you give reasons for why you have a chance, nothing more. Oh and I think we’ll have full backs against you.

the fact you have Mcleish as a manager means any team has a chance against you.

  3. Arsenal fan here, to be honest you should beat us easily. Our defense is non-existent, we only have 1 player who even remotely looks like scoring &even if we go 5-0 up Wenger will take off our goalkeeper and put a road cone in goal.

    • that sub was totally shocking. He can pick the young players but no way Chmaerlain should have been subbed. I actually think if you played a full team it could be a very exciting game.

    • U obviously havnt seen how shit our defence is. Dunne and warnock = a howler every game.

      • will u ever shut the fuck up about Dunne and Warnock….Collins and Hutton are way worse you deluded fool. Dunne is a full Irish international and gave the best defensive display I have ever seen against Russia and he will LEAD our country with pride to the euros, will Collins be doing that no and oh wait he’s not on the team anyways. You are so retarded.

  4. Villa got nothing to lose arsenal have, bring it on i say

  5. In reply to the last comment . Have you won a European Cup, European Cup, European Cup. Yes probably have more chance then we do, but for all of your trying, still to join that small elite band of British Champions of Europe.

Who knows what will happen next Sunday, after all the Emirates is a pretty good stomping ground for Villa, only one ever defeat there and that was after Fabregas ripped us a new arse – Still, you have nobody left in that class, and we might just bore you into submission and catch you on the break

    • The things I remember most about that European cup Final are
Peter Withe, some 2 feet from the goal line in the centre, almost managing to miss. Frotunately for him his miscue hit the post and went in.
The other thing was it was one of the most one sided finals I have ever seen. How the Germans failed to run up a cricket score I’ll never know.
While we’re on the topic of things Arsenal haven’t done, we haven’t been to the old third division either.

      • Fact is the history books say we won it against a world class bayern team at our first attempt. We also qualified by being champions yes that’s right champions. We didn’t have sky to help us qualify by finishing 3rd or 4th just because we are London media darling team. We did it the hard way with no money or big name signings. At least Peter withe and our players didn’t choke in the final like the do called great Henry and co.

      • i can’t recall full details but didn’t arsenal buy their way into the original division one, when you finshed seventh or lower in division two & got spuds relegated in the process, same old arsenal always bribing.

  6. Lol, first comment by the time i typed that, in response to the first comment

  7. If we attack Arsenal, we have a chance. If we go into our shell we will be beaten.

  8. If we let arsenal play there football we have no chance, but if we attack and give them no time on the ball then yes we have a chance, everybody is expecting us to lose so the pressure is on them.

  9. It’s probably a bit rich saying we will beat Arsenal because they have shit full back…Warnock and Hutton are laughably bad…especially Warnock.. my god he lacks confidence!

  10. Guys I’m being deadly serious! I never am in the know but I can tell you now for a Fact we have Put a bid in for Hernandez!

  11. Tom, what you smoking?

  12. McLeish is probably swapping xavi hernandez of liverpool for Bent, Nzogbia and cash to try and get the wagebill down

    • Bent to liverpool. Albrighton to man u, given to arsenal, Collins to Newcastle, dunne to Sunderland, gabby to Chelsea, nzogbia to Norwich, petrov to man city and Hutton to tranmere rovers!

  13. I have a feeling we will do better than expected too.
That’s a good points about our fullbacks though.
If that Chamberlain kid plays he’ll rip Mutton to pieces.
And I suspect his substitution today might have been specifically so he can play against us,
Although why a kid that age needs special nurturing is beyond me. When they’re having a great game, leave them on, I reckon.

  14. no-one seen my deliberate mistake ?

  15. m not thinking about beating aston vila m thinking about how i can sack wenger as a fan……….

  16. I’ve a great reason.

    Arsenal are shit

    • Arsenal are a decent team but can be bullied too easily and need a strong viera/Essien type player and a tony Adams type centre half. Wenger shud of signed cahill. We havnt got a bad team but we have a piss poor defence who have a howler in them every game. We could be under no pressure then all of a sudden u have a corner Dunne and collins get out jumped by Walcott and bang 1.0. It happened yesterday for wolves 2nd goal. I think we will give it a good go but we need at least 3 goals to get a result because our defence is so weak.

      • everything you said could apply to Arsenal as well

        • Exactly cud easily be 3.3 or 4.4 as both defences are shit. Both teams shud get loads of chances against piss poor defences thou they will create more chances than us and that shud c them thru. If we had a decent defence I would of fancied a replay at least.

  17. to be honest, i’d rather us go out & concentrate on the league, if we go out of the f.a less chance of our players getting niggling injuries , we wont win it! and we wont win v arsenal, alot of cracks where papered over in the game against wolves,,,

    • 100% disagree, we are safe so no need to concentrate on the league, get Arse out of the way, hope Man city draw Chelsea and then the winner draws Spurs and who knows …

    • Why concentrate on league nothing to play for and we r safe. It’s not like we will finish top 4. I say let’s go for it Wev nothing to fear and nothing to lose. Just hope mcleish realizes that and just goes for it. Could easily be high scoring draw with both teams having shite defence.

  18. Not feeling hugely confident, but to those arsenal fans who have said we will lose because of McLeish must have very short memories as they’ve already forgotten who was manager in their last cup final defeat…

  19. Good to see a positive post Ian! That’s what it’s all about. I agree with you completely by the way. Arsenal are the most overrated club in England full stop. Villa have more history and tradition in its little finger than these would-be plastic aristocrats of the 1930′s.

RVP aside they are, man for man, second rate from front to back. It’s beautiful to see little Arsenal fans make there way over to this site, too. Wipe your feet before entering, ladies. Shouting you don’t know what you’re doing to the man who transformed you from being the most tedious club in England to one that has played some decent footy these past ten years? Shameful. What a bunch of utter losers!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. Thanks randy sell our best players employ guy who is Shit but never mind he puts free coaches on.. and lets not get carried away wolves really should have put three or four past us ib that last twenty mins of first half. nothing changes for me at. all..

    • Wow, trying to turn a Villa victory into a negative. Does this mean you are happy if we lose a game but would have won if we had taken all our chances? I get that you don’t rate McCleish or Lerner but that’s a bit much IMO

      • Shame we can not do it at villa park ds .. we been here before mate lets see what happens at arsenal and qpr at home

        • True to a point but Arsenal is away so our home form not relevant there. QPR will probably be a much better guide, new manager and probably new players etc. I’m not getting carried away by the Wolves result, but neither did I slit my wrists when we lost at home to Swansea. We are around where we deserve to be in the table, and i guess we will finish where we deserve to, which is IMO not far from where we are now. Our home form is about our inability to break down teams who defend in numbers and stifle our counter attacking, and is not really helped by the frustration of the crowd which must affect the players.

It’s just that your post referenced a number of negatives as if they were all that was relevant, and anything positive was to be discarded.

          fingers crossed anyway

          • no mate dont get me wrong of course it was great win and good golas too. just like you say i sit at home games and it just dont inspire me at all i think your prob right were we are is prob our position.. your right about counter attacking style but and here is the but we so so need a positive midfileder further up pitch to find the killer pass even more so as messers bent play of last shoulder.. i think the club has just sort of ground me down this season,.. i agree i would say its frustration within the home fans me included boo neve thoughr.. i was negative mate agreed the fact that we have had a torrid time this year at home eck coming etc etc hand on heart i have prob gutted at my club and certain things that have happened and are but its a choice we make as we speak i will be renewing my season ticket next year which believe it or not it kills me that thought.. i cant accept at home we play to defensive midfielders and no cutting edge in fianl third in middle of park.. But will i go to wembley if we get there of course.. to be fair nice to have proper discussion with out arguing we all sing of same sheet does diffrent views utv

            • yeah agreed. It is a struggle at times. You would think though that with Ireland (or Gardner now) and nZog we ought to be able to find that creativity. I suspect players are either being told not to overcommit, or just deciding not to as we don’t have a DM that is strong or mobile enough to hold on his own.
If we can sort that bit out and our defending we might not be that bad!!

              As you say utv

          • mate i loved randy when he came and the things he did on and off pitch a lot has had to change mate i see that with world situation money wise.. but i read about whats going on at the browns and its bigger scale thats happening here and says he will devote more time there has randys love affair gone down with avfc i understand that he dont have to throw money like he used to..
