FULL TIME – Wolves 2 vs Aston Villa 3 – Bent, Keane (2)

Vital game today at the Custard bowl, put you money on the draw but we can not afford a defeat at all !

FULL TIME – To be honest not much happened to worry us and whilst nto a deserved win, a welcome one !

90 – 8 Mins injury time

89 – Keane and gardner off and MOTM is easy I think ! Well one of those two

85 – What a GOAL by Keane, a clearance comes out and Keane from 25 rattled it into the top corner after a fantastioc strike

74 – Karl Henry being a complete pratt raked albrighton and deserved the sending off

72 – Quietest part of the game Albrighton had a good run and shot but apart from that, game has become cagy. Warnock coming on has made a real difference in keeping Kightly quiet

62 – after the break we are still shaking our heads how we did not score, game is swinging to each side every 5 mins

56 – Long break due to a nasty head injury to Frimpong in which he could have scored when he got the injury

51 – Out of the blue, poor clearance and Keane scores a good GOAL but keeper mistake

48 – First shot of the half and a collectors item, a long range Bent shot

16:02 – Gabby is off for Warnock and that is an injury I have been told, that is part of the reason it changed. commentator said Gabby was ill and it looked like he ran out of steam

HALF TIME – We started off the game so well but then collapsed because Clark and Gabby not been able to control Kightly, this could be 4/5 down easy

43 – BBC Final Score pundit Martin Keown on David Edwards putting Wolves ahead against Aston Villa: “Villa have conceded another goal from a set piece. Alex McLeish said the next player who doesn’t pick up will be dropped. He should drop half the team in that case.”

39 – Calmed down a little after that frentic spell at least Gardner is looking right in the PL a star to come .

31 – this has been one of the worse 10 minutes of football I have seen from us and Wolves could have been 4-1 up before they did score, yes from a corner !!

26 – We are being toen apart at the moment, Warnock will be happy to miss this Kightly all over clark and wolves should have been two if not for a Albrighton header off the line

21 – rubbish defence with Clark too far inside and allowed Kightly to cut in and score

16 – real open game, Villa doing well to keep the ball at times, I worry they have us with pace against our defence

11 – GOAL – Berra is a complete idiot, dawdled on the ball, Bent chased down and he whacked it, clear pen and cooly taken

6 – first attack by Wolves has us rocking and got lucky with fletcher shooting straight at Given, bad defending

1 – real fast start as we penetrate down the left, swinging Clark cross over and Gardner with his force touch, a header misses a sitter, free from 8 yards

15:00 – Kick off

14:55 – So KO and a few minor injuries weaken the bench, made selection easier

14:06 – Gary Gardner starts his first PL game for Villa as the rumour posted first on here was right and Ireland was ‘injured’

Given Hutton Collins Dunne Clark, Albrghton Petrov Gardner Gabby, Keane Bent

Great to see Gardener starting and is going to be very interesting to see how he plays now

14:02 – Wolves team out and 5 man midfield … villa’s not out yet but Keane appears to be starting

13:57 – This may be a very interesting and attacking selection …

12:28 – Starting this early as will be out for a bit shortly until the team news is announced. However on his twitter feed Mat Kendrick has given us a bit of a clue

Alex McLeish was reluctant to talk about Stephen Warnock yesterday. Unconfirmed rumours that the left-back could be left out of team today.

If this is true then Clark must play LB you would think as Stevens may not be ready to start. If Clark does play this will mean a midfield two of Ireland and Petrov with Keane with Bent up front and probably Gabby left. I have a debate on twitter at the moment and just do not believe that this is the right way we should go to be honest. In many ways it is a compromise of a team and they rarely do well.

  1. This is Ribbie Keane, goal out of nothing :)

  2. It is amazing how bad we are at corners!!!

  3. Great goal by Keane but you can see he isnt the same player.

  4. Looks like Frimpong has broken his jaw to me.
    Unlucky.

  5. We’re looking the better side now.
    Henry you animal!
I saw three seperate offences in one then!

    Dirty bastard!

  6. Complete dirt that henry always was

  7. what a fucking goal

  8. Fucking get in again!

Really didn’t want him, but what a strike!!!!

  9. You were saying robbie keane? Not worth the money eh????

    • Yes, he’s earned his corn today.
I’m happy to get it wrong if it means we’re winning.
Let’s hope he keeps it up eh?

  10. Weimann on for Keane.

    Nice.

  11. For sure hope he can do it again

  12. Fantastic goal by KEANE, apart from the goals he didnt do much, some of his link up play was good.
Not bad for a loan signing shame its not longer.

  13. its a shame KEANE isnt till the end of the season. he would be useful.
someone who shoots outside the box.

  14. Yes!!!!!!!!

    And you know what?

    A bloody good game!!!

  15. Love the 2 goals by rb
    UTV

  16. There wasn’t many people praising the capture of Keane, but I certainly was delighted to see him join us. I have watched him all my life and right up to now he’s still banging in the goals. 2 amazing goals today, 1st goal he didn’t even look up to see where goals were. Total class act.

AND: Well done McLeish, excellent piece of business so far, enjoy your 53rd birthday gaffer :D

  17. Robbie Keane – you have earned your wage there son!

Calm on the ball, worked it about nicely and what a strike for the second!!

Just got back on the train and am still smiling. Thought we’d f*cked it up at half-time but turned it around and looked good in the second half. Thought Warnock played well when he came on as well.

Let’s follow this up with a win against QPR now!!

  18. Hands up, Keane has proved me wrong today, his goals were very well taken and his link up play in the second half made a difference. Having said that after we scored the first goal we went back to our usual lie deep and defend, and try to kick the ball to death. Secong half we at last saw some proper football, much of it emanating from Clark, Gardner, Albrighton, Keane and dare I say it Benty!

One observation, Jarvis managed every time, and I mean every time(I particularly watched for it 2nd half) to get his crosses in when up against Hutton, remember at VP, Herd stopped him almost every time! First job of a full back is to defend!

  19. Just got back from the game Frimpong ran the show in the 1st half along with Keightly & Jarvis running our full backs ragged. Great to see Gardner start he looked his usual class self for me that’s where he should stay in the 1st 11. As for Keane he did nothing up to his 1st goal but what a quality turn and shot that was and then he came into the game and scored and absolute brilliant winner i believe his loan was wrong and still do but fair play i tip my hat in his direction for those 2 stunning goals.

But this just papers over the cracks things went our way today just like i thought they would but all in all a great game the type of game that would see the fans returning.

    • Don’t you mean SHEEP!! We’re getting relegated don’t forget. You know fuck all. Did you praise McCleish for getting Keane?? Muppet
