I will be like many very sad at this move if it happens and I will be unhappy we have let him go. Obviously at the end of his contract difficult to keep him but he is far better than playing at Rangers. Why MON, AM and GH did not give him more time at centre back I just do not know or understand.

Surely this will mean another central defender coming in as the backup at RB and CB is then very weak.

Football is about opinions, MON used him at right back mostly to assist the CB’s, GH obviously felt he wasn’t good enough on the ball and AM is spineless and doesn’t want to upset Collins and Dunne. Simply really, I feel sorry for the guy, you have to with that muppet Collins on the team before him.
But when he took Muttons place the back 4 looked stronger. He may not be great at getting forward but neither is Mutton and at least King Carlos can defend
He got dicked by Routledge when we played Swansea. He let him past too easily and didn’t have the pace to get back. He is not, never was and never will be a right back. I always thought he should be a first choice CB but MON, GH, GM and AM didn’t/don’t think so. They know something I don’t As for other comments, Hutton is light years ahead going forward (not that it takes much).

Don’t give a toss whether he stays or goes as he is average at best. But would rather dunne went and can’t believe he has been picked over cuellar as dunne is shite. One of the mysterys of life perhaps dunne is capable of causing more trouble in dressing room ( re the trouble he caused under GH) if dropped where cuellar will accept it gracefully!!
No mystery at all. Carlos is completely right footed and needs to play on right side. Dunne plays on his natural left side and only plays right side as cover for Collins. The issue is Collins v Cuellar, not Dunne vs Cuellar

Carlos Cuellar is a true proffesional, he never moans, always has a smile and will be sadly missed if he goes
This seems a strange decision in regards to wage bill reduction Cuellar is on 30k a week and Collins and Dunne are on 50k a week, there contracts are longer so we would get more money for them as well.
Nice guy not really given much of a chance another of MON’s signings that was left on the bench
Unless they are binging in another CB and will then sell one of the other two, are we about to see a lot of juggling in regards to transfers before the window closes
Probably easier to move Carlos as he’s earning less. Why would Collins or Dunne leave for less money?
Which is probably the reason we can’t get rid of Dunne and Collins. Who else will pay them that much!? They are here too their contract runs out I suspect!
Im afraid u are right there unless we take a hit and give them away on a free then another club mite pay their wages. I would drop them both now we are reasonably safe and try maybe Clarke and baker surely they can’t be any worse as we never keep a clean sheet anyway.
We won today and it’s still hard to feel upbeat.
Great CB, cannot understand why every manager we have rates him as third best, the guy is class, composed and doesn’t hoof it every time he has the ball. BEST OF LUCK CARLOS, a true villa gent and I hope you come back to club in retirement in the future to watch with the fans.

Carlos is a great pro but if he hasn’t made it with us under 4 different managers he’s lacking something. From what I seen of his he’s a great tackler but poor on the deck, so many balls over the sideline. No poing paying him 30k a week to play reserves. As for those knocking dunne and collins I thought they had a great second half today and helped us win.
I could see this one coming. High earner, contract up in the summer. So disappointing (and confusing) he didn’t play more often, he always gave it everything at centre back or right back. Top defender.
My theory? We offered or planned to offer him a deal on significantly lower wages, which he wouldn’t agree to.
But I think you’ll find it will be Cuellar leaves, and within the next year or so Dunne, Collins and Warnock follow…replaced with cheaper younger alternatives. Cuellar will just be the first because he is not playing and because of the length on his contract.
When ever he got a run in the team he was ok – not great but ok. However he seemed to get a fair few injuries – which stoPped him becoming a regular. Don’t really him leaving will be to the detriment of the team. Thought he lacked pace and close control to make his mark in the prem. 3 managers overlooked him – and it seems no other prem club wants him – Which speaks volumes

Collins is awful, shocking how Cuellar has never been given the chance!
Positionally very good, brave and hard working O’neill insisted playing him as a back which was never his best position, I too am sad to see him go I wish King Carlos all the best with his next move.

anyone comparing cuellar to dunne has lost it. 4 managers cant pick cuellar as a regular starter at either CB or RB, whereas Dunne has 70 odd International caps, played in the Premier League regularly for the last 10 years and was voted in the Premier Leage team of the year 3 seasons ago. Or maybe you all know something that Premiership managers dont?? I dont see many other PL teams piling in to buy Cuellar – or has that not occurred to you? Maybe, just maybe if fans actually got BEHIND the team instead of UNDERMINING them with all this fickle crap, some of the players might get a little better. Whats the point?
I feel as though a lot of you are judging Dunne & Collins harshly, remember a few seasons ago those two were one of the most solid pair in the country.
I’d put the blame wih Hutton & Warnock, if they get caught out the CB’s need to cover for them and be pulled out of position and then it looks like their fault.
I’d play Cuellar at RB, and hopefully this Stevens fella we brought in is decent enough for the Prem to take over Warnock.
