So the cracker they have today is that we are lining up a £1.5M bid for Fulham’s Damian Duff and another link on a free transfer for Keith Andrews.
They do say that we would have to sell to fund Duff but I do question why we would even look at him, given we have N’Zog. OK maybe for cover but really we should buying kids for cover. In fact I would say after what we witnessed last night that buying kids is the ONLY way forward.
Many will agree that yesterday we saw a different attitude and biuzz about the team would any older player really give us the same ?

What kids played last night? I just saw a team of men in their 20′s and 30′s.
The league is very average so we will stay in it. No doubts there. If we are supposed to get behind a team that at times has played Hutton and Heskey as wingers and isolated a guaranteed 15 league goals a season man. The guy is a clown full stop and we need him out ASAP!
We are where we are because the greatest spending spree Villa have ever done was by a manager who couldn’t buy out of these shores hence why after spending 100M didn’t leave us with a play maker or a goal scorer. After spending 50M on defenders we are left with a joke of a defence with majority of players sold or valued at less then 50% of what we paid for them.
Randy is to blame too. If your on £1000 a month and let ur other half spend £800 of that on Jimmy Choos for three years then your going to have no money left. ESP if majority of the shoes are rubbish n sold cheaply or no one wants them
Spurs wage structure is very similar to ours and we both have spent money in recent times. There in a different zone to us right now so says a lot about out spending.

The only thing that gives me any hope is the performance of players like Bannan, Albrighton and Clark against Arsenal. At least we have some hope for the future…hopefully one minus Mcleish.

Another problem is younger fans are gonna go elsewhere if we keep this up there be no villa fans in the future well expect the old ones like us, i mean ellis was many things but at least he could attact new fans to the club, lerner is pushing any poteinal new fans away
Also with Ellis you didn’t expect him to spend big, unlike RL who promised us loads and then started selling our best(not saying it would be different if Ellis was still in charge, but we’d expect it) RL keeps quiet and spouts his usual best interests of the club bullshit without actually answering any questions(he should be a politician as he’s inept enough)

I disagree. We have plenty of kids, we will continue to produce plenty more kids through the youth system. We lack experience in midfield and lack cover on the wing – I would say bringing in Duff would be a smart move.
I don’t think we should buy experience at the expense of our young players, but I do think that a few injuries have exposed the depth of our squad lately and 1 or 2 experienced players to compliment the many young players – Lichaj Clark Baker Lowry Stevens Albrighton Herd Bannan Delph Gardner D.Johnson Delfouneso Weimann….to name a few – would be a good idea.
Especially as Heskey and Cuellar are likely to be leaving in January.
Don’t agree with Andrews as he is not prem quality, but I would take a risk on Duff. When injury free he has been a good player for whichever team he has been with. He may be pushing on but he is good as cover for Albrighton and N’Zog. How many times thus season has McCLUELESS pulled N’Zog off and had to put a central player (Bannan, Gabby, EMULE) into the wings.
I would take Duff on the wing over Heskey any day, also he has the ability to put in a cross which I haven’t seen N’Zog do yet.
I would start with Duff and Albrighton on wings, Stan and Baz in centre. 442 Gabby Bent up top. Later on in game you can switch Duff for N’Zog to bring fresh impetus into game and also might give N’Zog the kick up arse required to PERFORM.
I would prefer to have Herd n Stan in centre but I’m hoping to see Herd at rightback now. If it turns out he puts Cuellar at rightback now with Collins back in centre, then I would have Herd n Stan with Baz replacing Stan later on in game when he gets tired.
I know a lot will disagree with Duff but its a chance worth taking, the only worry I see is that WE CAN’T AFFORD 1.5MILL to buy him, are we that desperate
