The first is that Petrov in his comments seems to imply he could leave if needed to be. In the article he admits we need strengthening and of course quotes can be brought out of context but can this be ?

I mean at this stage we can not afford to lose Petrov who has been one of the better performers this season and we would miss him badly if he was to leave. I know that a certain manager currently Red and White would like him but not this winter, we have no experienced cover.
The Second is that we are linked with £2M rated defender Phillipe Koch from Zurich, He is also being looked at by Ajax and Lazio. He is quoted as saying he would like to play in England, so deal done then !!

As much as I hate McLeish he did a great job with the scum with the small budget he was given, the likes of Scott Dann and Roger Johnson are testiment to to that, along with their whole squad really. I don’t think people understand that Learner has no money , He got himself into a mess with a divorce back in the States and half what he had has gone. He can only finance Villa by selling players that other clubs want. I have supported Villa for 60 years, even worked for them but I draw the line on buying a seat for players that are only at the club for the wage and have no commitment to Aston Villa football club by winning for the fans. To me asking people to pay to see a none commitment from any player is robbery, legal robbery and the club should be made to answer as to why, As for the so called Head coach or manager has got to be a joke, he as far as I can see has pulled Cowans, onto the bench along side him to help pull him out of the mire. All that we have now is a excellent ground we own all our assets and don’t owe the banks a penny but we do have a bad advisor’s and managements. maybe one day my grandchildren will see better times. Petrov was past his best 2 season ago and yet he has been our most consistent and best midfielder this year. That goes to show how far we have gone backwards! However, given what I just said it would not surprise me if Mcleish sold him and brought in someone like Keith Andrews or Danny Guthrie!
