Gardner to be loaned out & Salifou found

The Daily Mirror tonight report that we have agreed to let Gardner go out on loan.

They report that Leeds, Ipswich and Coventry are interested but no word on the length of the loan.

I guess this makes sense to give him a try on loan, guess it is a sign of good patience to allow this. However I just feel that the best place to have a go at 19 (hardly mega young) is in the PL. As I discussed yesterday would it really make us that much worse when you consider we have effing Emile Heskey in midfield.

So if he goes he goes with my very best wishes, I hope he storms it at whichever club and I hope this is short term and we have a quick recall. Because I tell you everyone, if Petrov goes injured for any spell of time we are totally gone in that midfield. some may have hopes for Jenas but I have none at all and Gardner and Bannan are the only two hopes I have in there for any length of time.

Go on Gary go and get goals and assist and make Mcleish recall you ASAP.

Did you wonder where Salifou went to ?

Well the Sun has the answer – LINK – Saarbrucken, German 3rd Division team

  1. GG will be wearing the number 4 shirt in the first team soon. This is a good thing if true, if not going to be used then go and get a taster and some experience.

  2. Gary Gardner loan makes perfect sense. I did tell you all weeks ago that he wouldn’t be used for us yet; he’s not ready. He needs another loan after this one too, then to go back to reserve team football, then next season around January time I see him coming off the bench in a Carling Cup or FA Cup game.

He’s just back from serious injury and he’s only 19 years old. Yes he’s highly rated and a great prospect, but he’s no Steven Gerrard ………………… yet.

As for Salifou, Martin O’Neill is clearly a genius in the market isn’t he? Thanks for that one messiah! What a gem he turned out to be! I don’t think we’ve had someone quite like him since Eric Djemba-Djemba, so shit they named him twice.

From now on Moustapha Salifou will be known as Moustapha “Togolese Zidane” Salifou-Salifou.

  3. I have hopes for Jenas. Not sure why you wouldn’t…

Not as a holding player obviously. As a link between midfield and attack. He has quality and experience, he can be a good player for us.

  4. Total disgrace, if he is good enough to play for Coventry he is good enough to play for us! Having watched McCleish bring on the clowns on Monday, Hutton and Heskey, our midfield, I despair. All this crap about recovering from injury, how did I fall for this one, what a mug I am!

As for talking about relying too much on youth, perhaps we should work out the average age of the team on Monday night, another couple of years and they would have been awaiting the winter fuel allowance! What has the seniors done for us this season, three wins against rubbish teams!

Hasn’t McCleish learned from Herd, MOTM in every match he has played! Gardner, if fit (if not, why is he going out on loan) should be given his chance. He is playing for the U21′s, and like Jones, Wiltshire et al he should be in our first X1. You win nowt with kids, remember!

Never mind play Jenas, what has he done, sweet FA. He may perform and regain his form of seemingly years ago. ‘Arry will hope so, he was delighted what we did for his first team right back last season!

Play him, Bannan, Herd in midfield, Clark and Lichaj (when fit) in the team, at least they realise the pitch is green and on the ground, unlike the rubbish who are destroying the game in the team at present – are you reading Dunne, Hutton, Cuellar and Collins. NASA is supposedly looking for a new first stage, may I suggest these two!

My suggestion for a loan arrangement; how about us letting McCleish go out on loan somewhere, anywhere please. I will add this is the first time I have criticised him, but this really has got to me, the final straw

  5. me i take a different a view we have to many of our youngsters at mediocre sizes. i would rather them kept together and moulded into a succesful side rather than playing for teams who are struggling ,players can all the best skills in the world but there need to get that winning mentality ,thats the problem at the villa theirs no ambiton in the club from boardroom down,

  6. He’s good enough to play against Swansea in midfield. It’s just the managers way of telling us he’s in charge and Hutton and Heskey are great midfielder’s because HE thinks so ………..

  7. God am I furious. I keep reading on other forums that we are entering a month or so of testing matches against the likes of ManU and Arsenal etc. and as such we need experienced players.

A lot of good these experienced players have done so far for us. I remember last season against ManU, the kids in midfield, Bannan and Hogg, for 80 minutes we played them off the park; how, with good solid football, a foreign concept to the majority of the old men, both players and manager, down at VP.

Lets go down fighting, if we must, but at least lets see some football!

  8. GG on loan to Coventry till Jan 3rd – on avfc.co.uk

  9. We actually do have players who can play football – would be interesting to see what would happen if we played our skillful players all together – Jenas, Nzogbia, Ireland, Bannon, Albiighton,Clark. These guys can play the game on the deck and keep possession. I’ve been impressed with Herd – he is definitley one to watch, let’s hope Hutton doesn’t keep him out of the right back position when the other midfielders come in. Petrov’s legs have gone – he can’t keep up with game, can’t play holding mid and can’t get forward I’m afraid. To be fair Houllier could see that. Dalgliesh warned Liverpool that they would concede a lot of possession at Anfield to Swansea – bodes well for Sunday doesn’t it.

  10. absolute disgrace eck and grant only last week they were banging on about gardner being involved in december and that he is very much in her thoughts to be playing.. Fucking disgrace say one thing do another im not to upset about the loan its the bullshit they give us fans and whats more coventry bottom three shit football could of at least sent him to a decent team i would love to stick my season ticket right up faulkners and and randys arse they have let us down big time its one thing after another..I hate the thought of villa loosing i spend a lot of my hard earned money on this club and have an understanding gf and daughter but i dont no how much more i can take of this lot its the most silly thing gardners loan thats really pushed me now and its down to saying one thing and doing opposite.. we are becoming laughing stock of football..

  11. The official site says GG is out on loan to Coventry City (why the fuck them) till Jan 3rd 2012….
So a months loan to an absolute shit team is going to bring him on leaps and bounds? No of course it isn’t. with an horrendous month ahead of the 1st team and a total lack of skill in the players McRelegation plays we send out arguably our best prospect since Sid Cowans to get kicked to fuck in the 2nd tier of English Football…
More insane moves by our club…
Wake up we are doomed !
I despair of our future it looks bleaker by the minute
McRelegation please get hit by a No11 bus when you next leave VP…..(that should get me some hate mail)

  12. With Lerner & Faulkner Driver & Clippie

  13. Why is it that every Villa youngster has to go out on loan these days, no matter how good they are.
It’s not like we have a team of high performing stars at the moment and one that’s really difficult to break into.
What harm would it do for him to take Heskey’s place in midfield, and surely Herd isn’t better than this lad. We need that spark in midfield, because there’s definately something lacking, it’s worth trying, while giving him some PL experience at the same time.
So the stories about his leg not being ready can’t be true either, otherwise he wouldn’t be going out on loan. As well as playing regularly for the youth, reserves, and England U21s recently.

    • with you mate if they are good enough get them in he could be on bench and getting way more experience thast way than playing for coventry who are not playing well at all so we send him to club fighting relegation if it was southampton i would sort of be ok fair enough… so now we loose our captain for next generation series
and big eck was saying that he was going to have good december and be involved what the ginger prick did not say was it was at another club i am getting to despise that man i am not one for really getting at managers on match day but i feel the holte end wrath is coming.. and i for one will be happy as anus says great history and one shite future….

  14. maybe next time randy is in town for a game he thinks we will win and not have to the echos of discontent when we loose.. if they stop banners going up i think two ways of getting messageacross everyone who turns up and not buy anything just take there seats no coffee no programmes no merchandise no nothing and then a Peacefull i say again peacefull SILENT SIT DOWN PROTEST no singing etc then randy will see how it is..This club needs a massive kich up the arse i dont own the clu and i respect randy for what he has done overyears money etc bodymoor but i love this club more than he will ever do and a tattoo dont just prove it either.so us as fans put our trust in him to do whats right..lets get a letter draugted up and all send to faulkner one letter same content but thousands of diffrent siganatures..i am usually laid back but this gardner thing has sent me over edge captian of youth team broke into england u21s told by the at toss pot grant he would be involved like robo said we all thought villa.. i for one have had enough awesome history shite future

    • Regarding any protest banners, they only need to be up for a moment or two. As long as they are photographed they’ll be published in the press or on the web, much like the Houllier banner… Get ‘em up I say!!!!!!
      McLeish OUT!!!!!

  15. Loaning out players are a waste.

Example 1, Barry Bannan,21 now, has been loaned out to 3 clubs, played 40 games for them, but is still overlooked at VP and he our best, probably only, creative player.

Example 2, Brian Little, no loans out, played in the first team at 18, was a regular at the age of 20.

Doesn’t matter what age, if they are class they should be playing, forget this brain washing bullshit about players having to be loaned out to further their career!

  16. cant wait to see jenas play for villa but i was hoping gardner wud come into the first team soon he has the pace power and eye for goal that none of our midfielders have at the moment i dont care what age he is or who we are playing if he has the confidence he should be in the team a.s.a.p

  17. whats everyone worrying about ?? according to Lerners puppet Faulkner we are on course to qualify for europe……………..

  18. What the heck is going on here
We need to play these young players and get rid of the carthorses we have all over the team

Warnock Collins Hutton and Dunne are like Dad’s Army. Heskey and Petrov are the same.

I spoke to a guy who started supporting Villa recently after years following Port Vale. He might be better reversing. After 57 years I’ve seen everything. I’ll at least be seeing Gary Gardner make his league debut tomorrow – at Brighton. He could score a few and I bet he isn’t recalled. If Mcleish thinks the current bunch of oldies can take us into Europe, he is living in a parallel universe. The escalator to relegation is now in full operation. 8th will be 18th by Jan 1st
