2 Goals for Gardner, not playing him is a waste

Fantastic cameo for Gary Gardner.

You will all know just how much I rate the kid. You will know from a piece I wrote a couple of weeks that I believe he should be starting for us. Well today for the England U-21′s against Iceland U’21′s in a cameo 30 mins he played well and at the end of the game scored two in two mins (in a 5-0 win), one a lovely free kick into the corner.

This is the one player from our youth production line we can be very hopeful for, for the future and it is really time to start giving him proper first team minutes. To see the lump that is Heskey arsing around in midfield, giving the ball away and generally getting in the way then I cry at the waste of seeing Gardner not even getting on the bench.

I do appreciate players mature at different rates but Gardner has outgrown the reserves, he needs proper first team action and he needs it now. He is far too good to rot away ‘waiting for a chance’ and other teams could sniff around and give him that chance.

Time to play Gary !!

  3. Why is everything you right so reactionary? You just make lists of things that ‘must’ happen according to events of the last week. Ever thought there was a plan behind top level decision making? Or do they flit from idea to idea like the headless chicken with a laptop you are. This year Bannan is coming through, as is Delph and Herd. We also have Petrov getting older and able to play less games, hence Gardner will slowly get acclimatized to the first team, as taking him on pre-season tour started. Over the next few years he will get the games he needs to make the grade. All your nonsense will achieve is the over hyped, over egoed burnout of a new Albrighton. Too much, too young, in too great an amount. Be sensible man and have some well thought out ideas instead of the conflicting, schizophrenic and reaactionary drivel you fill my newsnow with.

  4. problem is Ian the Ginger twonk sticks with his old hands just like he did at Bl*es in a effort to avoid defeat.
Unless we get many injuries GG won’t get a look in just like Albrighton isn’t

  5. Ian

I think lack of comment so far might have something to do with the fact that not too many have seen the boy yet? We are the lucky ones mate, but also more frustrated by knowing he has a very good chance and is ready NOW. I will say it yet again for the umpteenth time, if you are good enough you are old enough.
