Mat Kendrick has tweeted this in the last few minutes.
#avfc asked about loan availability of James Milner & Adam Johnson, but #mcfc told them neither allowed to go temporarily or permanently
Re Milner and Johnson. #avfc enquiries were made last month I believe, during negotiations for Given

Of course it is easy for Villa to leak this to Mat and pretend that they are trying to do something. It is like Mat or I asking Cherly Cole to stay the night for ‘fun’ it just will not happy but if you don’t ask eh ??
Is this really the villa 5 years on from Ellis leaving because this is the oldest trick Ellis used to do when trying to fool as he saw it the idiot fans. Dangle a name in front of us, make a pretence that he is trying and hope to get away with it, remember the names of Klinnsmann and Lineker ?
I watched the first half of the Man City game tonight and saw their bench and then thought add Nasri to that and we are really 3/4 leagues behind them, Man U and Chelsea. Never has the gap in the top division between decent clubs and sides been so great.
Never has it been so depressing to see what the league is now like meaning clubs like ourselves have no bloody chance of winning the league at all. If you have no hope then is there any point ?
Aston Villa News 24/7
Its not negative, its the truth you deluded fuckjit
There is a difference between being negative, and being realistic, it seems that if you even dare to argue against, or criticise the present avfc regime, you are subject to abuse usually reserved for bcfc fans, why? We all have a right to opinions, if you don’t like them, tough, but why the abuse? It stinks!
Barry, Milner, A Young, Downing, all gone because Villa did not match their ambition, so they having a good insight to the club, know exactly what the ambition is of Randy Lerner’s AVFC.
We are to become a mid table side because of the selling of our best players policy, we can do nothing at all about it, just continue to support the club we love, as I have done all my life, I was around in the dark days of the early 70′s, I followed Villa everywhere, but, things were different then, no money in football, and and club could suffer what we did.
It’s just a matter of time until Darren Bent wants away, he’ll get it one way or another like the last 2 who have recently run away, and the same will go for any promising youngsters on the books, we love the club, RL professes to the same, but what it comes down to with him, is cash, and that’s it, like it or lump it. VTID
totally off topic
is the nextgen game at ajax televised tomorrow night?
alternatively, does anyone know where i could stream it from?
There is a difference between being negative and realistic, I fully agree.
To say that Lerner is only here for the money is harsh I would say, he has spent money on the club that would not be recouped from a sale, so I would say he’s here for the long run.
What people are basically stating, is that Randy Lerner is not burning enough of his cash on the club, so he needs to go so we can get someone in to compete with Chelsea and Man City.
Barry, Milner, Young and Downing did not leave because Villa could not match their ambition alone, they are all on about double the money that we can offer.
Is Ashley Young more likely to win the league ? Yes.
Are Barry and Milner more likely to win trophies ? They already have. Well, Milner was an unused substitute.
Darren Bent probably will be away if he scores twenty odd goals and Chelsea want him on £200k per week.
It’s not Villa that have failed to move forward, it’s that others have accelerated away over the horizon. But they have done so totally artificially from outside financial influences.
Is the club better off now than it was five years ago, most definitely.
Is it Lerner’s fault that there are clubs in the same league with financial resources several fold in excess of ours ?
For all those that truly want Lerner out, who do you want to bring in ?
Come back Doug all is forgiven!
Ha ha
I certainly don’t want Lerner out, an alternative like the crook Blues got would be unthinkable.
RL is first and foremost, a business man, he got Villa on the cheap, and saw a chance to make his mark, and make a few quid, he sure didn’t buy the club to lose money.
His first moves were wise, invest in the infrastructure, and involve the fans, but he didn’t realise the workings of the transfer market, and left that up to MON, big big mistake, too late now, and the purse strings have to be tightened, not just with transfers, but wages also, blunting his, and the clubs ambition, I’m sure if the had his time again, he would do things differently.
It’s wise to remember, we could be much worse off like our neighbours up the road, so if it’s mid table, so be it and UTV.
Anelka loan move – SSN
What?
More info please
It’s speculation at the moment, but looking at the Transfer Centre on http://www.skysports.com it could be a possibilty
Although having said that, they are responding to a post from someone on their speculation page. Basically anyone can post anything on there.
They are saying we’re going for both Anelka and Joe Cole on loan, while Petrov could go back to Celtic for £3.5m
Not sure I believe any of that…
A lot of the grounds in a lot of the leagues looked empty this weekend, i think a number of clubs are suffering atm
what is going to attract extra fans to clubs like ours with no hope of the league, no hope of CL and a very outside chance of cup wins or the dreaded EL which means nothing.
never mind the general awful economic situation
It would help if the fans we have keep going, that would be a start.
Seems the modern mentality is that if we can’t win, f**k it.
