The one thing about the PR this week is that no one should underestimate just how big tomorrow is.
Villa have not gone all out to back fans campaigns, get Houllier smiling and positive and the players to admit some responsibility without realising how big it is.
It is not even so much that a defeat would condemn us but for sure it would send panic waves (more than the Wolves defeat IMHO) through the club but it would make it really difficult to claim the players are ALL behind the manger. For that to be proven true, performance matters of course and a determined performance is one thing but makes a win totally vital.
Fans may look at the Newcastle game but they will have their own motivation for us sending them down. This game will set the tune for the last 7, the manager knows this, the players do and the fans do. If we really are all in this together that this has to be shown tomorrow for any one to actually believe the spin from the club.
It is no good spinning to be proved wrong.
If you are proved right then we can actually be confident of a relatively easy escape for the R word.
Tense you bet, and by 3 PM tomorrow will be very nervous !
Aston Villa News 24/7
I think the last 8 games are pretty much all important and massive.
would you not agree andrew, that this game sets the tone
a draw – nothing really changes but positive progression
a win – feel good factor increases and PR is proven right we can believe
a defeat – well lets not think about it
Of course, however I think a draw would be a great feat. Everton, injuries (which they’re used to far more then we are) or not, they still have a great team.
Arteta, saha are definately out for everton.
Cahill, Fellaini and coleman a doubt.
If all them are out i fancy us easily.
read Coleman and rodwell passed fit, thats a blow, both would get into our side
‘Coleman and Rodwell would get into our side’: that is your opinion. It is not a fact.
Yeah I don’t think Coleman would get into our side, I would rate Albrighton higher and he struggles to start games for us. Rodwell would though.
I’d have to say that all competitive matches are massive. End of…
Miffed lol
All games are important and as you run out of games they take on more or less significance according to your league position and aspirations. WTF are Villa doing down here? We can’t blame MoN or GH after this amount of time. It has to be the players, I think that as transfers are ‘decided’ in advance certain players will perform a little more to their abilities. No prizes for guessing who I am referring to here. So, bearing in mind the importance of each game and the expected improvement in individual performances, I reckon we will thump Everton and go on to ease our way up the table.
I’ve got a weird excitement mixed with utter terror running through my head… COME ON YOU VILLA BOYS. Even a point would start the ball re-rolling!!!

If we play like we did in our last away game, we’ll win easily!
Compare that defence at Bolton to the defence tomorrow though, massive difference.
I think we will be bringing something home tomorrow but as far as I’m concerned tomorrow is a bonus game. All our matches are key but this isn’t where the season is won or lost. Newcastle (H), Stoke (H), WBA (A) & Wigan (H) are our biggest games. Win 2 and draw 1 of those and we’re safe. Get anything tomorrow and we’re well on the way to safety!
I think we will get a result tomorrow with what will be a cracking away atmosphere.
Tomorrow would be a much needed lift, as well as a much needed 3 points, but it is one of the 8 games that if we lose it wouldn’t be a disaster. Theres West Ham and West Brom away, Wigan, Stoke and Newc at home. If we don’t pick up much from them, then its “good game sir.”
Massive game, Forget Houllier Out, Forget MON, Forget player squabbles, we just need the whole club and especially our players to unite together. The thing that gives me confidence that we have actually got good players that would get into 2/3rds of Premier league teams. Cream Rises and now is the time to rise boys.
Forget all the talk about Houllier for now, tomorrow is all about the players standing up, doing themselves, the club and the fans justice. If we win, its down to the players, lose? Also down to the players given the significant hype that followed the wolbes game. UTV…C’mon on lads, get us a result please!
Oh and hopefully Young can have a free role from a wide position as he did so well for england not playing as a second striker
how good is this video!

UP THE VILLA………
December 23, 2011 I don’t know if you can say they have the out and out best amecady in the country. Obviously they’re up there but Villa, Arsenal, Man City and dare I say Chelsea have fantastic academies too.A better comparison would probably have been for (even though they’re not a top side anymore) Liverpool vs Man Utd.Man Utd should have been in the comparison regardless really, I guess the writer is just practising the best way to twist data for their benefit.Valid points were made though, the reasons for that surely lie a bit deeper than footbal itself though? For me it’s kind of how people use fake tan a lot or sunbeds. It’s nicer to be a bit different. “Ohhh he’s French! He’ll be better than all our players” etc.
