On H&V ‘VILLALWAYS’ posted this about what Houllier said after match
He said on WM that he’d never experienced such animosity from a crowd that he got at VP today.
Well actually until 80 mins we never heard much and then it kicked off and I agree with Houlllier it was really nasty. The fans have had enough of him and his weak limp excuses all the time. After the ‘Dunne affair’ this week he had the chance to prove he was in control and had the support of the players.
The answer was clear for all to see in a limp performance, he and McAllistair have NO SUPPORT at all from the players.

Worrying that half the players in the team think
“well i’m probably leaving at the end of the season anyway, fuck it I don’t really care if I get relegated with this manager who I have little respect for, and everyone will see him as the reason anyway”.
Difficult because we have to play these players for the rest of the season as well, because there is no one else.
I genuinely think unless Houllier leaves, we are going to be right in it at the end of the season.
Our last 2 games? Arsenal and Liverpool. My goodness that last home game to Liverpool is looking quite tasty now.
I should also point out that in our remaining games we have to go away to West Ham and West Brom. Home to Wigan. 6 pointers.
Before people start reacting to my comment, I’m not defending Houllier. I’m happy to admit I was one of the fans who refused to criticise him in the run-up to the January transfer window and constantly said he had inherited a disrupted squad following O’Neill’s departure and hadn’t had an opportunity to bring his own players in. However, now I’m starting to accept this was a poor appointment – although I will still stand by my thoughts that he was the best of a bad bunch available at the time.
But, I was a tad disappointed to hear how the fans reacted yesterday. We do have a right to voice our opinions, but we need to remember that it’s not just the man standing on the touchline who will be affected by this – there are 11 others on the field feeling the heat too. The last thing you want when you’re struggling to even string a few passes together, is to have 35,000 voices all constantly berating you.
The time for reflection needs to come at the end of the season. Changing manager now would only hamper our chances of staying in the division. Even Kevin MacDonald would need a few games to bring his ideas to the core – as was proven at the start of the campaign – 3-0 victors over West Ham one weekend, 6-0 losers at Newcastle the next. We don’t have six months to change our fortunes, we have just eight games.
Right now, we should all be focused on keeping our beloved club in the top flight. We need to forget about yesterday and be in full, supporting voice at Everton in a fortnight. The likes of Young, Downing, Agbonlahor and Bent to name a few will all thrive on that. They’re are at the best when relaxed, not under immense pressure, and our heckling simply puts more weight on their shoulders.
Let’s be the 12th man for our last eight games. We’re in this together, so let’s play our part and be united rather than divided.
Sam – you’re being too sensible.
The People want their scapegoat and won’t start to think straight like you’re asking until after they’ve had their fill of blood.
I’m a tad disappointed GH has not handed in his resignation, oh, I forgot, he’s on a long term £3m a year contract, even if, or when we are relegated, good contract for being an inadequate manager.
Will not go down if the AVFC fans get behind the team!!!!!!
Spot on mate !!!
we are going dowm sorry but its over for me
Why do people keep stating “he was the best of the poor lot available”. Crap! if Ferguson or Wenger had walked out two weeks before the season kicked off would Man U or Arsenal have gone for someone out of work. Would they hell they would have bit the bullet and paid to buy out the contract of whoever they wanted. Mark Hughes for example would have cost us maybe £3m now it will probably cost double that to get rid of Houlier and his assistants. Naive or what?
Until the Villa stop settling for the easiest cheapest option we will never be a top 5 club and will continue to lose the Milners and Youngs from our team.
