We all know that’s not going to happen as Houllier and Lerner said it would take absolutely crazy money to get him, which is probably more than the 24m. But any fan of any team would want Young for as little as 13m if it was possible (which it’s not).

Hmmm depends how Houllier defines silly money. I think £20-30 million would be silly money. I think £15 million would be a more accurate estimation of his real value. £13 million is not going to happen.

I absolutely would not discount Ashley Young leaving for United for less money than you think. I said as much a few days ago. Now, the NOTW is rubbish but I still would really not be surprised if he leaves shortly after January 1st and for not all that much of a fee really compared to what the general consensus is.
