The NOTW reckon that Avram Grant has agreed a deal for STEVE SIDWELL to join West Ham on loan in the winter with a permanent move when his contract runs out, seems rational and sensible enough to me.
Also the NOTW revive the old favourite that we want MOMO SISSOKO from Juventus but face stiff competition from Fiorentina, Fenerbahce and Atletico Madrid
Finally the People following on from last week’s story about ASH YOUNG to Man U mention it again this week for £20M as they say Man U could take advantage of the player unrest at VP though Young is not part of it.

Why would we loan Sidwell and allow his contract to run out when we could simply sell him, albeit for a small amount? NOTW be crazy.
Good point VFT. I’m sure maybe Wolves or one of West Ham’s other rivals would pay a fee for Sidwell. The same would apply to one of the promotion chasing teams.
Because he is on ridiculas wages here and we don’t want to pay them if hes not playing. Clubs are unlikely going to want to pay a fee for him when they can get him for free in a few months anyway.

Teams in desperate need of a CM that can help keep their survival, like West Ham. The I definitely know that Noble and Parker are far better and that’s the only position they don’t need, which is almost why I question the whole loan deal to begin with for them.
I know clubs like Blackpool and West Bromich have 0 chance of affording his wages, but a club like Wigan, Wolves and such would possibly pay the 2-3m we’d ask for in terms to help them survive, instead of waiting till the Summer where they possibly go down and definitely couldn’t afford him to begin with. (I’m not saying he could save their season, but he could help and some managers might see that).
Noble is out injured. They are playing Jonathan Specter (RB) out of position in the center with Parker currently. So, I would argue they probably do need a CM. Though he has actually done well, he was in the winning 11 that beat Man U, while also scoring two goals himself.
And not that it’s anything more than a matter of opinion, but I can’t see anyone forking out any fee in the region of around 3m for a player who’s either been injured or has hardly been able to hold a place at any point in the first team. I would expect 1.2m or so tops, but more likely under 1m, if not just waiting for his contract to run out. (again it doesn’t really matter I suppose, it’s all opinion lol)

I think sissoko is the kind of player we need,basically a replacement for petrov,I don’t think ashley young will leave,he ain’t been playing well for 18 months so who is gonna pay the £15 – £20m that villa want for him,we also need a striker,take a gamble on a young French/Spanish kid,I’m sure GH has players in mind and if it takes £10m to sign an 18 – 20 year old unknown then do it,we need to start taking risks instead of signing players no other team wants,dunne/sidwell/Collins/harewood etc
