Dear me, when I posted the injury update yesterday I was tempting fate !
The Sun reports he is out for the MONTH with ankle ligament damage and this seems to the weekly injury before a game !
Now I am as cynical as anyone but I do not believe this is anything to do with the transfer window but some people will think and say that.
MASSIVE blow for us in such a vital time of the season and massive games, we saw at Liverpool just how we missed him.
EDIT 12:45 – GH has confirmed in his pre match press conference that Ash will miss Wigan but should be fit for Spurs. the injury as reported by WM is a strained medial knee ligament.

No it isn’t Lee. Just The Sun that have reported it with no quotes. My guess is that with the tough fixtures coming up Ash will play through the pain barrier out of love for the club. He got a whack on his ankles half way through the second half against West Brom and still finished the match. He is a tough guy for such a little man but I honestly think he will play through the pain until around after the Birmingham game and then when we hit that easier run of fixtures with new signing coming in he will be rested then. I think he is playing tommorow because no reports on Ash being out anywhere other than The Sun. But I do think his ankles are injured.

There is another explanation – he is being sold and an agreement has already been reached with somebody. They are putting him on ice until Jan 1 when he walks out the door. Search underway for replacement.

…if Ash leaves it would be a hammer blow. Otherwise, when he doesn´´t sign a new contract he could leave on a free in 1 1/2 years. Sign or leave (please sign!!). Spurs, ManUtd, Liverpool looks to be interested. We should get a good fee out of him at least and have to invest big and clever.

And I was on the way home for xmas leave today and met some bloke who claimed to be daniel sturridge’ brother and he’s from brum, claiming he knows all the villa lot aswell and says that ash injury ent to bad and curtis davies is rarin to go when he get back, probably talking out of his arse but iv waited for an excuse to comment on here!
Right lets have some positive news! Delph is back in training with the other lads, as is Petrov, all 3 are expected to return within the next few weeks. Houllier has confirmed Cuellar will start in place of Dunne which is obviously for the better on recent form.
