He confirmed his departure from Villa was the result of a falling-out with owner Randy Lerner: “I think we decided we weren’t going in the same direction, I’m not sure what direction that was. Probably the less said, the better.

As anyone who reads this blog will know I was and still remain a firm MON fan. No matter what he did or not do in the years here and timing of the departure I still like him and respect him fully for what he did. Of course this is not echoed across the forums and fans and no doubt many will have a go, that is your right.

However clearly the little bit here says that things totally broke down and that whatever happened for me was not one way in the slightest.

I expect him back soon, Liverpool ??? and back at Villa Park, the reception will all depend I suppose on the state of us at the time of his inevitable return !
