Villa sign Spanish U-16 star

Is this the first foreign signing of Houllier’s reign :-)

Hattip: Villatalk.com

Well no but shows an interesting sign of things to come. We have signed Espanyol’s 16 year star Juanjo Serrano de la Cruz for a Sum of £50,000 which will rise to £800,000 with add ons in the future.

His attitude in this quote is spot on

At first, I know it will be hard, but yes, I want to go. The English football is more physical but also has more space, so I’m sure the position is midfielder when play- – I enjoy very much. ” Juanjo, who finished fourth secondary school, the family will live with another player on the team and his new club Aston Villa, will pay for their studies, although the first full year of dedicated to acquire the highest level of English.

And a very good sign that the reputation of our academy is spreading far and wide but I have some reservations in the amount of young stars coming in from abroad to become now ‘homegrown’. Hopefully at Villa the core of the academy is English.

  1. Another Fabio Ferrasi no doubt

  2. According to the media Houllier won’t be taking charge until after the Stoke game because of him tying up lose ties with the FFF

  3. I’ve heard good things about this kid from a friend of mine who is Spanish and a supporter of Espanyol. They believe he will return to Spain eventually and see this as a ‘loan spell’ to broaden his horizons (maybe he’ll be the next Cesc Fabregas?). But if he hits the 1st Team by 18-19 and does the business, should be exciting.

Anyone got any news on Arsenio Halfhuid?

  5. This kid is more Javi Martinez. One of my friend’s watched him play for the u-16′s (or 17′s) and said he did lose the ball quite a bit but he was a shiner. Said by the age of 18-19 he’ll come out of his shell like Martinez did and will prove well.
