An eventful morning with various rumours flying around
Curbsihley – Obviously following from yesterday’s stories, all of a sudden according to the press he will be it, no chance !!
Houllier – ‘TheTrees’ on VT has indicated that he thinks it could be Houllier as early as this afternoon due to Randy’s flight plans. Villa_insider on twitter backed this up by saying
This place is buzzing this morning. I’m thinking something’s going to happen today.
his is NOT confirmed and just the rumour flying around the office. I’m NOT saying it’s definite. Houllier.
‘TheTrees’ just said
Apologies to the PMers, I have been out all morning and just got back.
I never have any idea who is on board a certain aircraft, I can only make assumptions based upon its movements.
There was a strange one this morning that involved a quick turn around that suggested that it might be collecting someone. As its last foreign arrival was from a different point, I surmised that it wasn’t collecting its owner.
For me all things point to Houllier and, as I couldn’t get odds on Jacques Santini Wink that is where I put my money.
If you take me as a tipster, please bear in mind that I had a pile of money on MON to be the next Liverpool manager, so I am not exactly an accomplished gambler
McLeish – rumoured to have failed out with the Blues board and ‘chrisnichollstoe’ on VT said
Im not an ITK, but was told two weeks ago about interest in Mcleish. My brother plays golf with somebody who was once connected to villa in a big way (thats all im saying!).
I put it down to bollox, but it is concievable that Mcleish himself may be holding out for Villa to come knocking?
As for what the general says, i think his morals are great, but this is the real world, and in Football, morals go out of the window, or you just fall behind.
In dark corners I have heard his name as well
Kevin MacDonald Graham Taylor backed him for a senior role
Lets face it this names hardly lighten up my day, a pretty poor list !!
Aston Villa News 24/7
i think everyone need’s to realise that this shortlist is from the fans and press not Lerner himself! So were stressing about who it’ll be out of this short list…. yet no one actually know’s the real shortlist! I have faith that Mr Lerner know’s how important it is to show the fan’s and the rest of the football world that Villa’s bubble has not burst and we are still pushing onwards and upwards! To do this and calm all the fans down he needs to appoint a top class manager! Which i’m sure he’ll do! Hopefully by the end of the week. U.T.V.
Didn’t the Man City “step off the gas” coincide with that Thai bloke basically telling Sven that he was going at the end of the season regardless of results….players were making a statement that they wanted Sven to stay. He would be my top choice of the nmaes being banded around at the moment.
sven is just a money merchant he’ll go were ever he can get a good pay check he’ll have no real passion for the team or club! He’ll dive out quick time if it dont go well! I’d like Houllier. Out the game 4 a while but he is proven and has great contacts in the game also great tactically like Wenger.
i have giving up on caring who aston villa get as long as he makes the villa faithful proud
sarwwaa never give up on caring for the villa my friend,i to have had enough of waiting to find out who will manage the villa they should have sorted this out by now .i just hope we are not building this up to big to find out we are going to get an anti climax, houlier is possible ,that would be good, sven not sure ,like curbishley good with the younger players ,not sure he is right for the villa though, and as for moyes that would be good but that aint gonna happen would be good if they had new man in place by the end of the week so they can spend a good week with the squad
How about this guy, he is up and coming and is only 44.
He took a small town club from the bottom of the Championship into the promised land of the Premier League by playing attractive football.
When he left them mid-season that club were actually 14th in the Premier League. But with him gone they fell apart and went straight back down.
He steered his new team (a slightly bigger club and long-ball side) out of the bottom three and up toward mid-table security with the same stylish passing game.
This season with the same club he is undefeated in three Premier League games despite falling 2-0 behind after going down to 10 men in his most recent match.
Dudley Villan:
I like Owen Coyle, too.
Gee:
Yes, indeed. It was a strange call by the owner. I genuinely think Sven wants to prove himself with a EPL club.
Bring in Sven, you liar leech lerner!

That last sentance says it all, this ‘connection’ could have been a bloody steward for all we know.
At the end of the day none of us have a clue who is and who isnt on the shortlist/being interviewed!
