RUMOUR : Was Hitzfeld in Birmingham

From ‘AVFC1978′ on this site

hitzfeld was at the match tonight, staying at the radisson blu with his agent. sounds like a done deal.

I have had 4 e-mails saying the same story but slightly different variants.

‘Bookie’ on this site has said

Hitzfeld is getting backed on Betfair, MacDonald as big as 15/1… was 5/2 before the match.

Apparently one paper is on the Hitzfeld story as well

Just imagine the euphoria if we get him ?

But it could just be the same false rumour doing the rounds, we will see.

edit : villa_insider on twitter is saying something close to happening but denies Hitzfeld at VP

‘maradona’ on VT has said an hour ago

Just round the ground, name being mentioned in the trinity!

Interesting article (Hattip villatalk) on how Hitzfeld looked to Bradley for the Swiss defeat of Spain.

Interesting possibilities there, Hitzfeld – DoF and Bradley coach ?

all speculation

  1. Maybe it was Thomas Hitz….lsperger they saw and mistaken him.

We are on the slippery slope to nowhere.

    Thanks Lerner….you waste of space.

  2. For the idiots who continue to insult Lerner with 0 back up knowledge on what happened.

  3. Someone has been busy spreading rumours haven’t they?

  4. Reading these rumours always gets my hopes up. I live in hope. I can’t bring myself to delve back into the cynical views of yesteryear. It might just be something in the Birmingham make-up that makes so many of you so depressed…but things will turn around. We’ve had a BIG setback, no arguments there, but I truly believe Randy will always act in the interests of the club & its fans. If he makes a poor appointment and our players leave, gates will dwindle and he’ll lose money. No businessman wants that (let’s assume he is the money-grabbing businessman so many of you cynically see him as). If he’s not that businessman, then even better, as that means he’s as big a fan as any of us and wants to see us do well and make the Holte End rock with roaring support. Either way, we’ll win in the end.

    UTV will return
    YWC will return
    The glory…will return

    In Randy We Trust

  5. Andrew, I read you link to Vital-Villa about Lerner. There are some questions out, which I will answer from my point of view:

Who gave MON all the money? Is 15m per season so much money?

Who gave MON all the autonomy? Has he got all the autonomy and is 6th place and 2 Wembleys and Euro qualification so bad.

Who backed MON even after he threw a game in Moscow? Maybe he was wrong, but we went to Rapid also with a young team. But nevertheless, thats was a mistake, maybe.

Who backed MON no matter what rubbish he bought? (£10m and £12m for two defenders who aren’t worth jack ****?) I don´t know he bought a defender for 12m, cause our record transfer is Milner with 12m (which we sold for 26m)

Who paid a fortune for Marlon Harewood on the managers request only to see the player sit on the bench and then in the stands and go on a free?
Yeah, he made mistake, so does every manager. But this 3,5m was a cheap mistake.

Who paid for Heskey … a striker who doesn’t score… at the managers request? Our strike force were bought for 6,5m!!! That speaks for itself. And in the end we were progressing.

Who backed MON for buying expensive players and putting them on the bench and still allowed MON to buy more?
We have a squad of 25 players like any other club have it and need it. See results and not who is sitting on the bench. That´s not of prime interest.

Who has transformed Villa Park? Yes, Randy does that, but is it clever to transform the squad and the place in one step. Not for me.

Who has tried to restore some pride for fans?
Everybody who is involved and who is a villa fan does that everyday.

Who has put a proper business plan in place to help bring Villa back up from the financial shambles? I can´t see a proper business plan. When there would be one, then there would be no discussion about wage structure.

In the end: I don´t say Lerner out or something else. But I think he has to ask himself questions if he was right with some decisions. Hope, he will get it right now.

  6. I’ve no idea what the post above means. It seems to dart in lots of directions.

Hitzfield is not coming to Villa Park. Bradley is coming to Villa Park. We won’t win the Premiership but we will give a good account of ourselves

  7. you have to read the vital villa link from earlier Alex

I do not mind Bradley, I struggle to see why he generates so much heat against him
