Lets be honest there will always be rumours and most are rubbish, I publish them on the blog to keep people updated and of course as always fans as we are will be for or against each one.
So since the shock news on Monday and it seems a long time back now what have we seen
Sven
He volunteered himself for the job, which is very kind of him and apparently was at Birmingham airport and he split the fans
Bob Bradley
Rumours he left the US job but that seems to be false or misleading and according to this report on Yahoo a ‘villa insider’ said they were ‘inconsequential’ to the relief of many.
Mark Hughes
My personal favourite, no clear rumours but on Sky Sports today someone who watched his pre match interview said he refused to rule himself out of the Villa job
Kevin Macdonald
He has the chance to stake his claim, not many people reckons he will be given the chance and ruled himself out of the big job many years ago but who knows
According to this article from the Telegraph, MacDonald ruled himself out, however story does not seem to match headline !
David Moyes
Ruled himself out
Martin Jol
Probably the strong favourite amongst the fans but no real rumours to him at the moment but some small talk he may be interested
Ralf Rangnick
Linked earlier this week and swiss villain has said the following
You may not have heard of him, but I live in Switzerland and he’s very well known on the continent. He manages Hofenheim in the Bundesliga and he’s regarded as something special. In his younger days he was a school teacher in England. My understanding is that he’s on the Villa shortlist, recomended by Klinsmann, who is friends with Randy. This could well be our man. Wiki im and see what he did with Hofenheim. Very impressive. Apparently his English is excellent too.
you wonder have the club contacted people yet, have they drawn up a shortlist (the Telegraph reckoned one was drew up before MON left.
You would hope by this time next week we would have a stronger clue and you can bet tomorrow the cameras will be out scouring the exec areas for some one being there, hope Fabio is not there watching us !!
Aston Villa News 24/7
klinsman wont come because he’ll be the next usa manager.
Hello IanRobo…not sure you remember me? but I was the one you got into debate with a few months ago regarding Doug Ellis and his legacy and the fact that you had no intention of giving him any credit for the achievements he did at the club.
Well…I’d like to first apologise for making this blog addition on this particular blog as I do not know how to set up another one OTHERWISE, I would actually do that.
Well…I would expect with the way things have been handled at Villa Park this week that Randolph Lerner must have gone down in your rankings somewhat???..for a chairman to “allow” a relationship to fall to such a low level and not do anything to correct the situation and then on the eve of the season, the club to allow this latest debacle to happen shows to me that the current chairman doesn’t have the club at heart as much as he makes people believe. I for one would have had more confidence in Deadly’s approach in this situation than the current chairman. What makes matters worse is the fact that the man he has in charge in his absence(Faulkner) doesn’t have a clue about football and the intimate runnings.
I had my issue’s with O’Neill’s style of management, but I have to admit, there is something about his aura that I will miss at the club, he made us all feel invincible in his first few season’s in charge and for a time we was even the talk of the premiership in favourable terms.
In the raw light of day now, we have to move on, personally, of the list of manager’s being branded, none really strike excitement into me and I pray that the board do pull a rabbit out the hat and appoint a manager who has a ripple of flamboyance about them. Bob Bradley, Jurgen Klinnsman, Martin Jol, Curbs, Sven are not what we are looking for and I will be sorely shocked if they appoint any of them. I was quietly hoping we could lure Moyes but that won’t happen now, so with me racking my brains over the past few days, a few names that spring to mind for our vacant management position would be Mark Hughes(out of the mentioned), Tony Pulis maybe even another Celtic Favourite in Gordon Strachan although I am not sure I want to hear anymore about Celtic. The biggest issue is that non of these managers mentioned have ever really done anything as a manager in the premier league and our exited manager was always highly regarded. Personally I hope O’Neill takes the England job when Capello goes as I have faith he could do a great job without the dealings of transfers and would give us all the reason to get behind him again.
In our current situation, my biggest fear is the chairman sat in his office in his Cleveland Browns Stadium a long way from Aston Villa talking about investment to the Brown’s coach using the money he will make from Aston Villa(sponsorships) and leaving a one man band in Faulkner to panick pick a manager. I remember Lerner saying, I aint the Aston Villa saviour, Martin O’Neill is!!!
Hi Frosty, I remember and some people would say the past week has proved me wrong, we shall see !!
simple to submit an article just e-mail me at ianrobo1@virginmedia.com

He’s also been assistant manager at Barcelona and for the Netherlands, and won at least 1 title at the 5 clubs he’s managed (all big clubs as well). So… Big enough for you fans? He’d be a great pick.
That is from Wikipedia so it could be you know, fake, but somehow I don’t see it.
“My understanding is that he’s on the Villa shortlist, recomended by Klinsmann, who is friends with Randy. This could well be our man. Wiki im and see what he did with Hofenheim. Very impressive. Apparently his English is excellent too.”
Already posted him on this site before. But he’s also gotten a load of cash to spend on players. He did lead them to back to back promotions and a comfortable mid-table position last season. But with millions upon millions invested, which Lerner won’t do.
Seems like Moyes really likes talking about Villa. He came out again and said he doesn’t want the job. I know it’s not reverse psychology but continuance of this is getting a bit much. Most likely the reporters continue to ask him but he never replied he said no and no means no, he said Villa are a great club but he’s at one of the biggest clubs and wants success there.
Guus Hiddink for me please.
2-0… Harewood for Blackpool has a brace in a 3-0 first half over Wigan… Wow…
With a manager or without amanager or even under a care taker manager, that was a good display and result against the hammers today.WELL DONE LADS.
