Yes it has been said before but VT ITK’s ‘Gaztonvilla’ and ‘MYSTERYMAN’ have said the following
Gazton
Welcome Stephen “Daddy Dick” “Superman” Ireland.
Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation
Yes, done. No idea about announcement, this is brand new news.
MM
This could take hours think about it he is unlikely to get here till noon then got to sort out the medical unless its down then the contracts prepared / signed . Deal dependant on the Milner side aswell going through ok re medical . Likely to be 6oclock maybe
as a joke MM has said
Gazton knows the cleaner at BH and I know the cleaner at VP . They get to see a lot of things left on deaks when everyone has left most of it is on the nail Exclamation
Mixed emotions on the deal, welcome Ireland a lot, quality, quality player.
However we have now obviously brought for the first time in my memory a player by the owner and CEO and not by any manager. Now I am sure any manager coming to VP will be delighted to get Ireland and play him in the right position BUT this is a new precedent for AVFC.
the big question is
Did MON want Stephen Ireland ?
EDIT : Pat Murphy on Radio 5 just saying that the delay is down to the payoff Ireland wants and is entitled to have from City
this is so very typical of Garry ‘bluenose’ Cook who pissed us around with Dunne for the same reason
UPDATE : SSN reports the difference is £2m. Remember that Man City are pushing him out so he is entitled to the differential in wages, happened with Dunne.
The Ireland deal is far from done … I can tell you that he wants to go to Spurs and Redknapp is brokering a deal for him & Bellamy. Redknapp wanted Ashley Young but levy vetoed it when he knew the combined transfer fee and wages involved. As for the next manager, I’m told that it’ll either be Martin Jol (negiotations with Ajax over compensation have already begun) and if it can’t be resolved then Lerner will approach Blackburn for permission to speak with Sam Allardyce.

Michael – Fact or guess work? Can not see how you would know this. Sorry to cast doubts on your integrity but for these points to be true you need contacts inside Spurs, Man City & Villa.
Funny, seen Harry on SSN saying Man City won’t sell Bellamy to them. ITK my backside
