The Mirror once again comes up with some corkers.
First up is that they reckon Villa and Man city will compromise at £28m cash after a precise £24,6m was rejected. We have dismissed swaps for Ireland and Bellamy as we want all cash.
Secondly and rather boring a story that Spurs will offer Keane, Bentley and Jenas and no cash for young who we want £30m for. Apparently the lure of Young is a pay rise from £60 to £65m, JOKERS.
Oh and both articles repeat the mantra of ‘sell to buy’ the Mirror has peddled the past month.

Aren’t most clubs sell to buy because of the 25 man squad thing and it making no sense to have high earners warming the bench. So long as there is at least a 11 experienced men on the pitch then all the rest can be youngsters as far as I’m concerned.
Do I read that right ? … Ashley is on £60m a year at Villa ??? … isn’t that over a Million Pounds a Week ????
All this gets to a stage when you really would like the media to go back 30 years, when they employed ‘Reporters’, who actually reported the news to us, instead of ‘Critics’ who do nothing but build someone up one week to run them down the next, all in the name of selling papers.
Media PLEASE … report facts to us, and cut out the speculation … maybe then we would all buy more papers instead of watching the Aston Villa ‘News Now’ pages.
There is more truth in the stories the daily sport reports then the daily mirror and they report on things like a giant turtle attacks a bus full of people in mexio.

Speculation is speculation, and it´s nice to think about it. For me, I would take the 3 Spurs players for Ashley Young. I think it would strenghten our team.
Jenas rubbish, Bentley rubbish, Keane ok but nearly over the hill, no thanks!
And I wouldn’t swap those three for Young. The guy is vital to how we play and yes, we have Albrighton coming through, but as far as making something happen for us, he’s all we have.
We need to add players of his calibre rather then swap them. Just my two pennies.
