On H&V a regular poster called Juan Pablo has said the Milner deal has collapsed
Milner deal looks off –
Milner thinks it will collapse
( until next year ))
Its what he feels… not saying a lot.. The clubs aint saying a lot neither
Well thats what James feels..I can only tell you what James is saying….
I understand this guy may have proper information but as usual it is all a ITK story and should NOT be taken as the gospel truth
For my pennies worth whatever our valuation is Man City will not pay it (£30m reckoned to be it) ad we knw over the Barry deal just how stubborn we are once we have our minds set.
I have no doubt that Milner will give us all for Villa but this will certainly restrict the budget though !
IF true I want Villa to come out with a firm statement that no bids whatever the money will be entertained until the end of the season, put it to bed
As usual following Villa is NOT boring
Thanks to GH on the comments he made me aware of this MON comment
The manager said: “We met on Monday, and the word amicable was quite right. I suppose I could use the old Cloughie line that we chatted for 20 minutes and decided I was right all along!”
Love that quote as it shows MON is in total control of the situation and does indicate that whoever spoke for Milner on the weekend is no longer involved.
Milner looks relaxed in all the photo’s so positive all roung
Aston Villa News 24/7
For 25m, we’d double our money in two years and sign 3 players who can give us a 8/10 performance for 75% of the season, rather than one player in Milner who plays a 8/10 for 80% of the season. Take the 25m now and build a better squad or be stubborn and get £12m next summer!! A no brainer for me…..
GH we would get more than £12m if Milner plays anywhere near good
and this is making a statement to other clubs that we are serious and will not be messed with, meet our price or it is the high road
if short term it harms us so be it because long term it can only be positive
Not surprised. He certainly is very talented but he was always being priced out, one good thing about it is Milner never complained about it. Hopefully a new contract is signed, not only for him to stay longer but if he does leave, to keep the price up seeing he’ll have 1 season left after this.
Possibly the vaguest ‘ITK’ info ever written
Aj he does post like that and often I believe is correct
just relating news as reports indicate Milner was very relaxed today
This for me is possibly great news for Villa.
With Milner we know what we have. Those of you who wil compare this to the barry saga i believe are way off.
Milner has played at a few big clubs now, where as barry was only at villa (Brighton not counted)Barry wanted a change, Milner has has nothing but change. He is still young and will stil be worth the at least the 12m we paid for him.
I believe Villa now are 1 striker short of a full attack . I can see Heskey moving on and a replacement being lined up. I.E Robbie Keane.
Continuety with the starting line up will prove Villa will still be a force next season for a top 6 finish and good cup runs.
In this day and age, id prefer stability than be a flash in the pan.
OHH and wait until the final stages of the TW. MON is at his best and clubs will be offloading players to meet their sqyud restrictions of 25
.
I’d stick him in the reserves. Fuck him.
reserves??
Why because he wants to change jobs for better pay?
There is no loyalty in football, the sooner fans realise that the easier it becomes to take.
I dont care who plays who leaves as long as Villa keep marching on!
Milner is currently a Villa player, and i will support him to do his best for my team.
When he leaves i will support his replacement!
Good news if Milner is too stay….for now, we have to accept that the nature of today’s footballers, is they are pure mercenaries, and will go where the big money is, however much they deny it.
One concern, wonder how the supporters will react to him on the pitch, now that MON has put the poison down?
kebo, you how we will react, with relief, if true and a statement like with Barry is issued he is here all season
Barry was not booed at VP even after what he said, remember when he replaced Bouma, got a decent ovation
IF we hold off city that is a massive feather in Lerner’s cap
He will sign a new deal, he will be on a year with higher wages, thats our offer to keep him for an extra year, however he will leave next summer if there is interest for less than the 30 mill we are asking for, it be for like 25mill. This way Milner shows he wants us to get a huge bid, and he gets a move n more wages. Thats what i understand
makes sense mate, we protect most of the money and he gets a fee everyone would know if they want him
Ianrobo, I say £12m next summer if he does not sign a contract as he’ll have one year next summer on his contract, so I stand by my view on the first reply above. I’d keep him for the record IF he signed a new contract however that aint going to happen. Interesting quote from O’Neil today in the paper’ I spoke with Milner for 20 mins and we agreed I was right all along with what I said’. Millner will not sign a new contract so sell for £25m now and re-invest
GH not seen that MON quote before where was it, very Clough like
as for the sell on we lost 33% on Barry so £20m is still a decent price IF Man City are even interested
talk sense,
I really can’t see that at all.
I don’t see any way he’ll be try to do the club a favour.
Why sign a deal that will give him higher wages when he can double his dough?
More like he’ll not sign a new contract, will leave on a free, will get higher wages and a big fat signing on fee.
And as much as I like to think he’ll put in no less than 100% effort, surely a player in that situation must be thinking in the back of his mind “I can’t go full pelt, in case I mess things up and get injured at the wrong time”?
one factor should be put into this
if Man City think Milner is out of reach, they may and probably will go for another player meaning Milner may never get his chance there
of course does not rule out other clubs next summer for example Chelsea to replace Lampard BUT things can change and Milner may realise that
The quote was in the sun and 0neil actually quoted that he used one of cloughie’s lines!
thanks mate
Man City are not Man U or Chelsea. Milner is young enough to take his time and from everything I have ever read about him he is not the greedy type. If he stays great, I don’t think he will give less than 100%. If he goes, as long as we don’t sell him on the cheap then good luck to him. Never forget the curse of the Villa…..
Hey guys. A bit of info. ive been working at a new house being built in Ullenhall (redditch way) and talking to the owner whos building it to sell on, he tells me that milners agent has been in contact and milner is very intrested in buying the house. maybe a rumour but another bit of info that suggests hes not going anywhere.
Thanks Chopa, there was some stuff last month that Milner had given up his lease on a rented place in Sutton
