Milner at the airport, Confirmed Liverpool bid for Luke Young accepted – £2.5m

The Trees on Villatalk has took a photo of Milner at Birmingham Airport, looking fairly relaxed and obviously bound for Portugal, could it be he stays as no sign Man City will up bid.

Radio 5 have said that Liverpool have confirmed a £2.5m bid for Luke Young has been accepted and awaiting confirmation he agrees to personal terms.

Not sure when it was obvious last night we had accepted a bid from Liverpool we did not announce it.

  1. Manchester city turned the heads of Milner, but i feel he will turn around produce a good season before he eventually leave like Barry did. Aston villa will be in the top 6 for sure, with or without Milner. Martin O’Neil has done a terrific job for last three seasons. Actually the season before the last one, for large part villa were title contenders. I think villa need two good strikers. To be fair with gabby and carew , villa is unidimensional.

  2. Milner may yet leave for City. But with the handling of Barry’s sitation and now of Milner’s, MON and Randy have proved this: We sell players on OUR terms. If you can’t match those terms, take a walk. Villa has intent and is not content simply to cash in on players.

  3. without selling milner we cant buy keane, ireland and replacements for luke , bauma

  4. Don’t talk daft Christian

  5. Am I the only one who thinks we should be retaining the services of luke young. Oniel’s reluctance to play him consistently is one of those decisions that truly bewilders me. He’s a solid defender.

  6. Yes I agree, we definitely show the right attitude when other teams try to buy our best players. The Citehs and the Liverpools of this world must learn that if they want to buy our best players they will have to pay our valuations. I’d really like James Milner to stay but if not then let’s get as much as we can for him.

  7. am i the only one that thinks two/three sighning and giving our youth would be good enough and iv got to the point where i just want to know if milner is staying and going

    can i make an account?

  8. i meant or going

  9. 2-3 signings has really what we need. Selling or not selling Milner. 20-30m between the fringe players and the sponsor can really help. Afellay, Witsel and Keane would be exactly what I want.

  10. Andreww ….. ? you know your stuff

  11. yup but i would get mcgeady and ireland aswel

  12. I personally don’t care about Ireland or Parker or another RB or whatever. Witsel gets cover for Petrov and is a great replacement. Would cost about 8-10m because Liege finished so poorly they’re expecting to lose Defour and Witsel. Keane’s an obvious. He can truly show Weihmann how to be a poacher. Afellay is an amazingly talented play maker. No prem experience, but RVP and De Jong are amazing prem players, so I don’t see how the next Sneijder/VDV couldn’t be either.

  13. the best right back leaves the club with a loss to the bank of £4m…yep another good piece of busines by MoN…pity it aint Cuellar on his way out

  14. I think we will sell Milner because we need the money for buying. A foreign goal scoring midfielder – Witsel or Defour could be a possibility. If that doesn´t go we will go for Ireland.
Keane looks a certainity because he could bring out the best of Gabby and it could bring a change in style (passing game). But it would mean that one striker (Carew /Heskey) will leave.
Have the feeling that Jenas is also a target. Was always a prefered player from MON and we could get him on the cheap.

  15. joty, the attempted signing of Parker today, shows to me Arry expects Jenas to go

think there would be few who would want him

  16. ianrobo,
I wouldn´t give to much to all this transfer news. I think there is a lot of strategy in it. No manager will ever speak about a prefered player as long as he has got him (except Mancini about Milner). Look at MON about Collins last year – it was an absolutely surprise on the last transfer day and it was an bargain!

  17. oh a agree joty, there is a plan and only three people know the real aims of it

transfer speculation is fun though !!

  18. I´m with you transfer speculation is a lot of fun. So, when we look at our 1st team it reads at the moment:

    Friedel // Cuellar – Collins – Dunne – Warnock // A. Young – Petrov – Milner – Downing // Agbonlahor – Carew (Heskey)

In defense he will make no changes. So
from this first eleven only Carew/Heskey are at disposal. MON will make a change anyway – one has to go and one will come. For me it´s Keane.
And it could give a surprise at the very end of transfer window, f.i. when Man City has no squad place for players like Santa Cruz or Bellamy. That could make a good opportunity for us.

For our second team there will be changes like with Luke Young, where I can see a young english right back (Clyne). And that could happen to Beye, Shorey, Reo-Coker, Sidwell.

  19. I will post at some point about the squad and choices and the formation is key for example based on rumours with the favoured 2 holding midfielders

    Petrov Jenas

    Mcgeady Young Downing

    Gabby/carew

for me that is stronger than last season and more flexible

but where would Keane fit in, all very intriguing

    • man city lineup [2-3-5] LOL

      shay given

      boateng kolo toure

      milner yaya toure silva

      santacruz balotelli
      tevez
      adabayor ballamy
