Fonz rises to the challenge

In today’s U21 semi final England were thoroughly outplayed in a 3-1 defeat against Spain.

For the Villa lads, Baker was taken of early with an hamstring injury but the Fonz impressed everyone today against an excellent young Spanish side who look set to dominate for decades.

During the tournament even though the Fonz has failed to score he has looked the class of the England U19 side, Nouble despite getting goals as looked a lumbering oaf similar to Shrek ! His touch when getting the ball, his turns and clever movement indicates the quality of the guy and if only he had been sharper up front he could and should have 4/5 goals.

Weimann had a quiet tournament with Austria but we know he could be quality and for Fonz it is time to give him some proper starts, for example he should start every single cup game this season. Weimann for me should be on the bench for most games, he has the handy knack of coring goals !

Time for brave decisions from MON, get rid of Heskey bring in Keane and leave the kids as 4/5th choices a risk because we know Carew will get injured, but could pay off handsomely.

  1. Very good, though Weihmann scored in the friendly so it’s great stuff.

  2. although there was a Noble in the Englamd squad I assume you are referring to Frank Nouble of West Ham who played today – he has the turning circle of a geriatric Emile Heskey and the close control of a parks player. I expect to see MON make a bid for him in the next few weeks.

The Fonz looked good but he dooesn’t have the “fox in the box” mindset that I was once anticipating seeing from him. He needs to take a few more risks in the box.

  3. Paul will alter !!

yep he needs that killer instinct but that will come, I am very confident of that

  4. way to proof read an article….shocking!
