SPECULATION : Milner (yet again), this time to Spurs, hmmm

Maybe MON’s plan to smoke out other bidders has worked as the NOTW runing a story that dear old ‘Arry is ready to hijack City’s bid for Milner

LINK

Now this sounds feasible to me (though they call Milner a winger !) as they have some cash but City could eaily blow them out of the water if they wanted to. Of course if MON’s plan is right he will see this story and chuckle to himself !

  1. spurs dont have the money

read the other articles on there where redknob is asking levy to stump up the cash

  2. Redknapp said they can’t afford Bellamy’s 80k wages. How can they afford a 25-30m price tag upon about 75-80k wages he’ll want?

  3. It’s funny what the papers come up with when even smaller clubs like Spurs are interested in our players.

Young and Milner have already turned down north London’s second team.

  4. could be MON leaking this !!

no way would Levy sanction this but arry would leak this to the press to put pressure on him

  5. John R:
You know, when you feel threatened, or envious – all sorts of garbish (not thinking straight) falls out of their mouths!

I’m a Yid, and u must be living several centuries behind us if u think Villa are a bigger club than Spurs!

I think was to take my rose tinted glasses off, i would say we are similar sized clubs! if ur going by trophies won, we have similar volumes. admittedly we have 5 league titles less than you, but aint’t most of your trophies won when most other [established prem] teams DIDN’T EVEN EXIST!

If you look over the premiershp era, especially recently, Spurs cannot be looked at as the smaller club, especially if u asked neutrals – over the last 5 years, at the start of most seasons spurs have always been looked at as the team most likely to break the big four dominance – and now we have actaully done it, despite Man City’s new found wealth, although it’ll be damn difficult to stop them now. But Villa do not worry me, I am more worried about Everton than yourselves although i like your club allot, you play good football, but i can see u going one way if Milner leaves, and i can see Young leavng for Spurs a feasible possibility! it’s not as if he’ll experience Champions League football at where he currently is? even if it could be for one season – Spurs have a better chance of reaching the top four than Villa!

  6. “but i can see u going one way if Milner leaves”

did you say that when Berbatov, Keane and Carrick left ?

I would also say we are similar sized clubs also but I think what John R says has the same principle. I really can’t see Milner wanting to leave Villa for Spurs as you’ll most probably be in the same position as us next season nevermind you lot having enough money for us to sell him to you anyway.

If it was the other way round and Villa got 4th place, I’m sure you’d laugh at paper talk linking Villa with a move for someone like Bale, Lennon or Modric.

  8. Simon B, you seemed to have overlooked a little thing called the European Cup

  9. Simon b – it’s called a wind up and it worked judging by ur entertaining comments!

  10. Just gotta laugh at people thinking we’ll be going one way (down) if Milner’s sold. That’s 25m-30m that’s not just going to sit there. Lerner’s going to let O’Neill use it… I guess strengthening the club is something most fans of other clubs haven’t actually thought of.

    • the thought of O’Neill having £25m to spend is frightening. Look at the nobs he has bought in the past, the very same players he cant shift now

  11. With all due respect Simon B if you want to look at the premiership era I’m sure you’ll appreciate two thirds of them (12 of 18) have been spent above Spurs.

Even Huddersfield have won more league titles than Spurs. At least the London press try to play to your delusion though.

  12. Simon b

since when has this site been for comedians,, I might put a joke on sikipedia…. Just put …Simon b…. It will make us all laugh

  13. Think properly, ‘arry’s been around the transfer block a few times & it is believed he wants to buy more players.

He knows Villa are interested in Keane but they are waiting for the Milner issue to be resolved first, ‘arry probably knows this.

So ‘arry leaks a story to the press that Spurs are in for Milner to trigger citeh into action & up the ante before another club nicks one of their targets beneath their light blue noses.

This is just transfer market brinkmanship & ‘arry’s good at it, spurs ain’t (in my opinion) interested in Milner, but they would like some money for Keane to boost their coffers for serious transfer targets.

  14. I see MoN is also trying to get rid of some of his bad buys!
Reo Coker, Curtis Davis, Emule Heskey, The Keane story is just a smokescreen to try and sweeten Milly and Ashley going.

  15. over the last 100 years in britain the club averaging the biggest fan base is… spurs

    what does that say?
