SPECULATION : Mohammed Fellah – Valeranga

Hattip: Heroes and Villains

A blog called ‘In Bed with Maradona’ has posted this piece of speculation about John Carew recommending a Norwegian forwards – Mohammed Fellah, the relevant bits are

Attacker Mohammed Fellah and Midfielder Harmeet Singh have been a revelation at Valeranga over the last 18 months. Fellah, aged 21, of Moroccan descent, has already saw large sections of the Norwegian media getting particularly excited and it’s not difficult to see why. Not the tallest fellah (see what I did there?) you’ll ever see, young Mohammed has netted only six times in fifty appearances for his club, but his record at junior international level shows what a poacher and creator this player is. John Carew is said to have recommended the player to Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill. That’s what IBWM has heard anyway.

He seems to be highly rated in Norway and played at all levels up to Under 21.

  1. I love this bit on the Wikipedia page… “He started out as a striker and reminded many of Raúl due to similarities in height and technique.”

Yes… Fellah is 5′ 5″ and Raul is nearly six foot. Very similar.

  2. To put things right, Fellah is primarily a midtfielder, however with a attacking bias. He has been performing well, togther with an other batch of youngsters at the club, most of which originate with talent machinge Skeid. But, I think this article is messing up names. The best player for Vaalerenga this seasons, and the one attracting the most foreign scouts, is Mohammed Abdellaoue (populary knows as ‘Moa’). He has 12 goals in 17 matches this season.

His wiki is a little bit outdated, but have a look here:

  3. thanks for the information mate

    • No problem, and sorry about the spelling.

      *Update*

The previously mentioned Mohammed Abdellaoue bagged three goals and three assists for Valerenga last night, taking his tally to 15 goals a season. There has been a summer break in Norwegian football since my last post, so he has not had a lapse of form since then (12 goals).

Loads of scouts on the stands for this one, and the Norwegian press is writing a lot about it. But there has been no mention of specific clubs. I would actually like us to sign him, but I would be surprised if MON was ever so adventurous.

Btw, he rejected a trial at Man United in 2008.
For the novelty, here’s the link. Google translate should handle it
