So basically a reserve side with some of the up for sale players playing and hardly stating a decent case not to be sold !!
Should not over react to these games though, but clearly the reserve forward strength is weakened by the absence of the Fonz and Wiemann on UEFA U19 duty.

Just back, a relatively meaningless workout in the sun to be honest. 2-1 the final score, we dominated but had no one up front to put the ball in the net. The pressure on their goal increased towards the end and we could have had 3 or 4 in the last ten minutes, instead of just the one we did get. No one stood out significantly, though Shorey had a useful second half and was instrumental in most of our best moves. Our big centre forward – forgotten his name – certainly made an impression when he came on too in the second half and gave us much more of a focal point. Davies was pretty composed at the back and played the full 90 minutes. Good turn out from the Villa fans, plenty all around the ground and even some singing! When Carlos went off and walked around the ground, it took him about 20 minutes to get to the changing rooms for signing autographs and having his photo taken! The kit looks just ok in the flesh, I can’t abide claret socks and the top looks alright.

He says Davies was very poor and this may be significant that he along with Young and Shorey played the whole game indicating they are not going to play against Peterbrough tomorrow, which is the proper first team squad start to pre season.

Over reacting my ARSE supporting the villa since the second world war ended so am at least a fan of long standing FACT. And have seen plenty of managers come and go but when Martin Oneil came to the villa i was over the moon thinking he will do the business at long last. But thus far its never happened and wil NOT likely do o until he gets his head out of his arse and signs some realy decent players instead of other rival teams cast offs.While i fully respect your defence and decission to back Oneil i am truly begining to lose any faith Its yet again months into the transfere window and who have we actualy got in?I do not believe all the talk from Stillion Petrove about magic martin will deliver its NOT befor time if he finaly does; and to you mr petrove stop talking bollocks and do your talking on the field of play were it counts because thus far you have failed to do so.

Bring it on lads if thats how you feel i will always say my piece what ever the outcome or opposition and always feel better doing that than keeping silent and suffering due to being in the minority.But what ever i say or do i will always be a TRUE Villa fan have seen it all and hopefully will see oneil get it right.Better to be passionate about a team and say your piece than go with the majority to just keep the peace and be in favour with everyone..Praise were its due i believe in and when its not like a 2..1 defeat to basingstoke i like to let it be known i was far from impressed.

Ted, the months of transfer window being open, i think you will find the transfer window opens officially on the 1st of July, which is 17 days ago not months, get your facts right, PRICK.
Prefer a pint mate and would gladly buy you one if i could ever get to the villa ground again which is very doubtful but i will always follow them come what may; they have always been my only team and will remain that way until i am no longer here to cheer them on or bollock them when required.

Yes, the actual Transfer Market opens July 1st but there are quite a few transactions that go on before that. With O’Neill around we’ll always be late on signing players. Like when we lost to Wigan, he finally thought we should be looking for players. That’s too late. We need them now so they can actually train with the club and not get them after the 2nd-3rd game of the season.

i think all this chat about villa is just bolix. villa have been trying their very best for the last few years. it doesnt matter if we win or loose. its just a game. im a true villa fan. ive been a true villa fan since i was a baby and im now 15. 16 in january. i wud avise u lot to not slag ur teams or aston villa off if u have nothing nice to say bout it all. it really pisses me off wen i read disrepectful comments bout villa. thats our team we are talking bout. :@
