Sky Sports are reporting that a deal is close to be tied up for Burnley’s Steven Fletcher to Wolves for £7m, yep £7m.
Wolves forums think this is a done deal as Iwelumo has already gone to Burnley which was rumoured a while back as part of the deal.
So what does this mean well as someone on the forum above said

So of course as we are a big club and continually linked to Doyle for the past 12 months or more then we will be linked for sure in the next few days and to be honest I expect that the deal could be done very quickly. In my view I see no possibility of Fletcher and Doyle working together too similar and he has many of the qualities MON looks for in a player.
He is an hard worker, got a very good attitude and despite being small holds the ball up very well. We saw in the first season he was with for Reading he had quality but it never worked afterwards. At 27 he is in the prime of his career and whilst 9 goals in 34 games for Wolves is not special you have to remember most games he was up front on his own with a limited supply.
I know for certain many Villa fans will not like the possibility of Doyle but they said that about Dunne and Collins and look what happened there !

I would prefer Doyle to Heskey (whom I’ve always liked, despite the stick that he gets), but not to Carew. So it would be a good, solid signing, though not one that would take us forward much. At the very least, it would be better than signing Carlton Cole or Bobby Zamora.
I agree with those last two and for me Doyle would be Heskey’s replacement and possibly Keane is Carew’s
