Over the weekend you may be aware that Villa won the Hong Kong 7′s tournament for the 5th time in 7 years.

What you may not be aware is that Villa played a new player in this tournament – Jason Langston aged 23.

Jason is standing behind Ciaran Clark and next to the Fonz. I have just spoke to his Dad Simon who is a QPR fan and he gave me the full story which shows how great Aston Villa are.

Jason is currently in Hong Kong for life experience and currently plays for the Hong Kong FC 3rd team since August 2009 as a left sided forward, similar to Van Persie !

On the Friday before the tournament Villa were worried about a couple of injuries and asked to have a player and the Hong Kong club recommended Jason. Jason therefore lived the dream of every amateur footballer and made the bench of a Premier League side and played 3 minutes in the Semi Final and a few seconds in a group match, and therefore did indeed ‘live the dream’.

Jason used to play for Cuckfield Town FC in the Mid Sussex Footabll league like his Dad before moving to Hong Kong and was missed when he left.

Jason was full of compliments for the way that the Villa squad and staff treated him and at the after tournament gala dinner was made to be a full member of the squad and has took the contact details of all the players who he said are a fantastic bunch of players and people, everyone of them are ‘awesome’ players. In particular he marked out Ben Siegrist our Swiss world cup winner as the one who impressed him the most but expects to tell his kids in the future he played with England stars like Clark, Albrighton and the Fonz !

I love this story, how many other PL clubs would have done this and treated him so good, this is a real good news story from Villa and they deserve every bit of praise for this.
