It is against Blues, they know the pain of the 5-1 and will be trying their very best to make sure we get nothing from this game, 0-0 suits them down to the ground. The game against Blues no matter how some Villa fans disparage it it is always important.
However with the results today no one needs to be under any false impression, we have a great chance of fourth now. MON has took some unjustified stick this season but any Villa fan would have took the situation with three games to go we have a chance of being equal with 4th with a game against a rival (Man City not blues !!) coming up.
So when we kick off tomorrow at lunch time with the enormous potential of 4th just in front of us no one at Villa Park from the Villa point of view will not be aware of the importance of this game. The atmosphere as usual will be cracking but add the prize in front of us and you will get something special from the fans and players should leave nothing at behind and give all on the pitch.
We have had our chances before, notably the Wolves and Sunderland games we flopped and badly this is not going to be acceptable tomorrow. It is the most important home league game I can remember maybe even more than when we beat them in 2006 3-1 because the prize is just so important.
That would be applicable for any team tomorrow but it just HAD to be Blues didn’t it.

Even if you win I just cannot see you having enough to beat Man City. Ive always thought throughout the season that Villa are always just that little bit too far away to get 4th, you can do it but I have never got the feeling you are going to. If you beat us and Man City then even I will believe.
As for tomorrow I and Mcleish will settle for a dull 0-0. So expect 10 men behind the ball. If you get an early goal you could canter away but longer it stays 0-0 the more I will expect a smash and grab winner from us.
As usual alot will depend on luck and of course whether the ref buys Young (especially) and Agbonlahors dives. I hope not as i rather enjoy agbonlahors baby fist thumping when he gets denied

Yes most if not all of the pens you have got recently have been pens. Is what us bluenoses cant take is the whingeing about refs when you dont get them. Its the same for all teams some you get some you dont.

Matt, the reason we complain about the refs is that they are so clear and so many. This is mainly due to the pace of our forwards who end up getting hacked down by slower defenders who can’t cope with their speed and skill.
It’s irritating.
Hopefully the ref will be fair tomorrow.

I had to see 2 replays to see that the nose mug might have got the faintest touch on the ball, so I can see why it was given.

Other than that one shite decision it was a good game, ened to end action, great saves at both ends, and blues fans can walk tall despite the result, knowing they walk the high moral ground, unlike Martin O’Neill, who walks the path of the snake and the Arsene Wenger. Yes we where unlucky to lose but I feared we would have a penaly given against us in view of the wave of Villa protests over recent decisions. Sadly the ref was fooled by this. Tough decision to make but sadly for us and lucky for you he got the wrong one, Apart from that it was a close game and could have gone either way. Did Villa deserve to win.No. Do Villa fans care? No. And nor would I if the boot were on the other foot. Thems the breaks.
