Frankly Sky have picked a right match for tomorrow haven’t they ?
Portsmouth, a team looking forward to only one game, with barely half a proper team and already relegated.
On the other hand we are struggling a lot, no point disguising that and no point beating around the bush, whilst we are difficult to beat the draws have killed us. The failure to rest the odd player is bemusing to a lot of us and it is no point hiding behind it, MON is under pressure to show he can understand the issues we talk about.
Certain players like Delph, Albrighton, the Fonz shoudl have all started some of the recent games, Dunne and Collins should have been rested as well because we do have options at the back. why MON does not do that we would have to ask him and this season unlike last season he did have the options and never used them.
Whilst I am prepared to give MON one more season and back him 100% anything other than a win tomorrow is not acceptable and forums will quite rightly give him massive stick and he would deserve that.
After the Man City game today we still had chances for top 4 the surprise result for Tottenham has put paid to that for even the most optimistic of fans which I am one of. So in many ways it is a meaningless match, some people may want Europa League I do not therefore whether we finish 5th or 8th makes no difference to me.
Beating Portsmouth though is a must win for MON
Aston Villa News 24/7
I’d like to finish above Plop, so they get no European football at all. Also it would be nice to finish 5th and above Man City.
In terms of ‘success’ two Wembley appearances means it’s been a pretty decent season. Just how better it could’ve been had MON rested players so they’re fresh in the big games is pure conjecture.
Why he has refrained from any kind of rotation at all is simply baffling and it clearly has cost us. However, poor rotation might have cost us too. We will never know.
The fact that fringe players have been given no games at all will cost us in regards to their morale, players want to play, and when there is no rotation whatsoever surely they get down.
We do need to win the next three games really, so we end on a bit of a high.
Yeah its all about finishing above Liverpool now!!
agree Jon on all that and we missed the chance with the likes of Delph for sure, that kid I am sure will be a total star
didnt MON say at the begining of the season he was rotating but he hasnt and to me he doesnt have faith in the whole squad
when he said it he didnt think we would be knocked out of europe so early
So you may be prepared to give Mon one more season? I am sure he can rest easy now. Every game is always a must win. He will know that. I am sick of moaning fans like you unrelentingly getting on the managers back. We have made massive progress. Roll on the end of the season.
Chris, I think if you read some of the stuff on here that I have been very very supportive of MON
but questions have to be asked on his squad rotation policy and I am personally very frustrated that Delph and Albrighton have not had more games
